The artwork is decent, but a lot of the story is left to still images without any dialogue or description, and thus, parts of the story are skipped or just pretty vague. This is fine, it's nothing new, but when combined with volume 2 (which should have just been packaged together), it at least feels complete. This is exactly what it says on the cover: a graphic novel adaptation of the first half of Season 1 of the hit Disney+ show.

I’m not really sure who the audience for this is as hardcore Star Wars fans will have already seen the show, and I can’t see this appealing to a more casual fan. Actually watching the show is better, but if you need a quick refresher or don't have access to Disney+, then this is a great way to experience the hit show and cultural phenomenon that is The Mandalorian.

It's not trying to shot-for-shot recreate the show, but its cinematography’s influence is heavily felt.
