To use this part, you can either connect the conic tool to the tip of the handheld unit or you can, first, connect the flexible hose, then connect the conic tool. It isn’t an obvious feature, and I didn’t notice it right away, even when I saw it on the instructions, I still wasn’t able to see exactly how it worked, but after a little bit of looking I realised there is a foot plate that you press when the steam mop is upright and then you lift the red section out of the base and voila you have an addiotnal mop/scrubber!

This works well for relatively small jobs, but if you need to use the cleaner for a prolonged period it can soon get tiring having to hold the trigger in. What’s great about this mop is it will clean on any hard floor even sealed laminate, which is great as many steam mops in the past told you to avoid laminate flooring as they would get too wet. Likewise, for very tough detail jobs, a cylinder steam cleaner will probably prove easier to use, as the Hoover Steam Capsule 2in1 proves to be a bit tiring to operate for long periods, particularly as you only get the full-on burst of steam in short cycles. Electronic controls allow you to choose high power for tough cleaning tasks, or low power for up to 50 minutes of steaming time.
