Sera was an awesome heroine, strong, fierce, powerful, determined, a warrior, with amazing abilities and courage. ALITF was a lot slower than the previous novel, keeping a middle ground pacing which was never boring, but also didn't get the heart racing where sometimes it could often use it.

Nyktos truly accepts that she was trained to enact her forced plans, but now Sera is free, determined to help defeat the real enemy.

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I loved this book - honestly I think this was one of Jennifer’s best works to date, and by far my favourite book out of the entire FBAA world, it’s now one of my favourite books of all damn time. Between the two main characters (Nyktos and Sera) their character arc and relationship follows a nearly identical path as Poppy and Casteel. So, for example, strontium (atomic number 38) produces a reddish color, while sodium (atomic number 11) produces a yellowish color.

If under any circumstance she was going to fail her duties; this would mean facing something bad than death or becoming a slave. Nyktos has a plan to get them through and finish Kolis off for good - however Sera is starting to feel like more than a Consort in name, she's beginning to feel a lot more towards Nyktos even though he can't reciprocate her feelings. A sanctuary lamp, chancel lamp, altar lamp, everlasting light, or eternal flame is a light that shines before the altar of sanctuaries in many Jewish and Christian places of worship. In Judaism, the sanctuary lamp is known by its Hebrew name, Ner Tamid (Hebrew: "eternal flame" or "eternal light"). Jennifer has won numerous awards, including the 2020 Goodreads Choice Award in Romance for her adult fantasy, From Blood and Ash .I do think it would be cool if the final book of both stories involved Sera and Poppy and dual POV with Ash and Casteel as well. I loved how Sera would not listen to others, when she wanted to train, as well as to help Nyktos; the warriors always gave in, and her wonderful abilities won them all over. They get married and their union is blessed resulting in a marriage imprint that cannot fade unless through death. Occasionally there is a sanctuary lamp over the altar, its pulsating red light symbolizing a belief in the Real Presence, and not necessarily indicating the reserved host, as is properly supposed. The way she has linked everything together, the parallels and revelations that run through the entire series is mind boggling.made the deal with her family and the reason why she is meant to be his consort, his Liessa, his queen.
