About this deal

Librarian in Terminator Armour: A psychic specialist clad in formidable armour, this Librarian uses his otherworldly powers to smite foes and augment allies. No matter what you’re into – D&D, Pathfinder, Bolt Action, Kings of War, Age of Sigmar, any other board game or TTRPG – stop whatever it is you’re doing, put your dice and cards down, and pay attention. The gold standard for the next few years is likely about to be set. This is the inverse of last week’s preview, where we now see the Terminator and what is in his gaze. If you ask us, this pretty clearly looks like an Ultramarine, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that any new miniatures couldn’t be for something other than Ultras. As the name suggests, Von Ryan’s Leapers are intended to be an agile, nimble unit, and these lithe, sinewy monsters capture the essence of that role with ease. Each is posed as if in mid-strike, natural weapons raised or Cthulhu-esque mouth-limbs reaching for a target. Again, they’re gross, but absolutely gorgeous.

This humongous box contains 72 new miniatures split between the Space Marines and the Tyranids. The Emperor’s Angels of Death are represented by an indomitable Captain in Terminator Armour, a Librarian in Terminator Armour , a Primaris Lieutenant in Phobos Armour , an Apothecary Biologis, five immense Terminators , five Sternguard, a sharpshooting Ballistus Dreadnought , and 10 pyreblaster-toting Infernus Marines. Within this colossal box, you'll discover a total of 72 brand-new miniatures, divided between the Space Marines and the Tyranids. Among them, the Emperor's Angels of Death are magnificently represented by an unstoppable Captain adorned in formidable Terminator Armor, a Librarian also clad in Terminator Armor, a Primaris Lieutenant donning Phobos Armor, a skilled Apothecary Biologis, five towering Terminators, five Sternguard warriors, a precision-focused Ballistus Dreadnought, and a group of 10 Infernus Marines wielding powerful pyreblasters. The Hive Mind has numerous ways of waging war – overwhelming the foe with hordes of Termagants, melting bastions apart with the living artillery of the Tyrannofex, or by ambushing with more subtle fear-inducing organisms such as the Lictor. Added to this last list are the Von Ryan’s Leapers. These creatures are the ultimate ambush predators, though they’re just as dangerous when jumping out from behind things that aren’t bushes. There is a vast amount to like here. If you’re a Space Marines fan, this is your dream come true. If you aren’t a Space Marines fan, you probbaly will be after seeing these miniatures. However, what is really nice about this transfer sheet is the diversity. As you can see from the image above, there are lots of non-standard markings, including transfers with metallic elements, with additional adornments, and other unique features. Personally, I’m itching for an opportunity to get some of the more unique Dark Angels transfers on my minis. Screamer-Killer: Named for the distinctive howl of its bio-plasmic blasts, this Screamer-Killer is a monstrosity engineered for the forefront of Tyranid assaults. I love it. It shoes a different side to the Space Marines faction: Warhammer 40,000 is satire; there are no good guys, and this battle-maddened lunatic is testament to that. No one in their right mind takes on a horde of Tyranids armed with two daggers (well, three if you count the one embedded in the dead gribbly under his boot). It is this pattern that forms the basis for the new Terminators, now substantially filled out to match the scale, and the increased detail, of modern Space Marines. If you have a MyWarhammer account and are signed up to the Warhammer newsletter before May 14th, you could win a copy of the Leviathan boxed set! Terms and conditions apply.

These definitely look scary, and when compared with the video teaser, they look even more frightening! Apothecary Biologis: An experienced medical officer, the Biologis collects battlefield samples for analysis, guiding their fellow Space Marines in the best ways to kill enemies. Here again, we see a size comparison, with the new model keeping very close to the original design, except getting much more detailed and slightly larger! It contains the rules set for Combat Patrol , which make Warhammer more accessable than ever, as well as a full Crusade narrative expansion that delves into the lore of the Tyrannic War that forms the setting for this new edition of Warhammer 40,000. One big thing to remember is that these models will all be East To Build (ETB) or Push Fit, which could affect the value. However, with the Indomitus box, some models came out later with multi-part kits, while others have remained ETB to this day (like the Necron Warriors or SM Outriders.) While you can deploy both armies in full to play a brutal but balanced game of Warhammer 40,000, the box also contains more than enough models to form two full Combat Patrols that will let you play this new, faster-paced game format right out of the box. What Else is in the Box? All miniatures come supplied with their appropriate bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Colour paints. There are a lot of new characters in this box, but if you split this with someone, this is actually crazy value!

Predisposition aside, the Biologis takes everything great about the original Primaris Apothecary and encases it in super-heavy armour. Some terrible hybridisation of squid and chitin, this levitating mind-monster is a seriously stunning miniature with enough brain for a whole army. It’s gross – really gross – but it’s also super cool. This set will get you bang up to date with the current storyline in Warhammer 40,000, but if you want to explore the horrors of the Fourth Tyrannic War, there’s the Leviathan tie-in novel by Darius Hinks, in which the Ultramarines mount a desperate defence in the face of the monstrous Hive Fleet Leviathan. Disaster has come to Terra – the walls have fallen and the defenders’ unity is broken. The Inner Palace lies in ruins. The Warmaster’s horde advances towards victory in the seventh book in the Siege of Terra series. All that stands between the tide of traitors and the Sanctum Imperialis is Sanguinius and a rag-tag band of loyal refugees and survivors.Second-to-last for the Space Marine side of the box, we arrive at the Infernus squad. Note that you get two of these sprues to make a total of 10 miniatures. There’s a slight build variation on one of the minis, too, so not all of them will look the same. Gone are the slightly soft, retro aesthetic of the old Termagants. In their place are a devilish deluge of teeth, claws and other spikey bits. What’s more, with every Termagant being around 4 components a piece, these things go together with exceptional speed and ease. They also retain a great deal of detail, so there has been no sacrifice in quality for quantity. First up, we have the new Librarian in Terminator Armour – or as you may know him, the chap getting brained by a giant floating snot globule in the Cinematic Trailer. More on the snot globule later. The Neurogaunts are a new Tyranid unit to the Leviathan box set, and they’re a little bit different to all the other units in the box because for one there are 11 of them (well, 10 Neurogaunts and 1 Nodebeast), and secondly they come in various shapes and sizes. The good news is that they’re very, very easy to assemble and are spread across one sprue.

The Tyranids have descended upon the world of Oghram and it’s up to you as a buyer of the Leviathan box to save it – or destroy it.The set includes the definitive Warhammer 40,000 10th Edition Rulebook, offering a comprehensive introduction to the core rules, intricate gameplay mechanics, and the rich, expansive lore of the Warhammer 40K universe. However, in the more recent preview, they actually put the words Space and Hulk in the video description. These rumors come from this Valrak video, and he says this is all from a trusted source. A lot of this seems to line up with ther previous ones too! These valiant defenders stand firm, resolute in their battle against the relentless onslaught unleashed by Hive Fleet Leviathan. Among the horrors they face are a ferocious Winged Tyranid Prime, a mind-altering Neurotyrant accompanied by its two Neuroloid minions, three agile Von Ryan's Leapers, a formidable Psychophage, a swarm consisting of 20 Termagants and two Ripper Swarms, 11 deadly Neurogaunts, five Barbgaunts, and a fearsome reimagining of the iconic Screamer-Killer.
