The Winter King,' from Sony's Bad Wolf Productions, to Debut on U.K. Streaming Platform ITVX". Variety. 19 August 2022 . Retrieved 15 June 2023. What emerged was that the two distinct activist movements were actually far more intertwined than she had ever realised. ON THE OTHER HAND WE’RE HAPPY Daf James | DAUGHTERHOOD Charley Miles | DEXTER AND WINTER’S DETECTIVE AGENCY by Nathan Bryon (Paines Plough /Theatre Clwyd 2019 Roundabout Season)

Currently, Daze is an Artist in Residence at Phytology, the Bethnal Green Nature Reserve. She also works as an Artistic Environmental consultant at the Gate Theatre and serves as a Speaker and Climate Justice Consultant, collaborating with global corporations and governments. Her work is founded in a deep love, duty, and care for all life. Daze remains passionately committed to organizing with grassroots campaigns and organizations for climate justice. As I got older, I became scared of having children because I thought I might hurt them. Of course, I felt there was no way I could tell my husband this, I was deeply ashamed and fearful of what he might think of me.

Muthy is a multi-award-winning scribe and has been nominated for the Writers’ Guild awards three times. Her work on Channel 4 drama Cradled, which was nominated forBest Single Drama at the Broadcast Awards 2023, played a part in her being crownedBest Debut Writer at the 2022 Edinburgh TVFestival, after which she found herself in the writers’ room for the highly acclaimedParamount+ drama A Gentleman In Moscow, for which she wrote an episode. But what adds another layer of glitter to this already sparkling show, is that it treats its child audience with respect. So that when the big issues arise, they are not shied away from. Lavisha is busy. School work and caring for Mum are her priorities. Period. Of course, she cares about the planet but from where she’s standing it seems like posh people have got that one covered. Thanks to DCMS Cultural Recovery Fund and our Share The Drama scheme, we want to make sure those of you who are struggling in the current climate can still take part in our Summer Writers Programme. While we prioritise anyone who is long term unemployed and/or claiming benefits, we’re also offering subsidies if you’re in financial difficulty as a result of the Covid-19 crisis.

Most importantly, regardless of what happens, there’s real legacy, not just in the writers’ whatsapp group (!), but in the form of our spec' scripts. My spec' script is something I and others have hugely invested in, something that feels reflective of the characters I want to see on screen and crucially something of my own voice that I can share with the wider industry.Whilst the programme has officially ended for this cohort, it’s not really goodbye... for me there’s still another draft to do and from there who knows... Small Wonders was originally commissioned by Punchdrunk Enrichment, LIFT and Bernie Grant Arts Centre. It first ran from 2nd June – 13th July 2018. probably one of the most sensitive portrayals of dementia seen on stage. It doesn’t tiptoe around it, but it never seems to take advantage of it either…. a lovely, emotive piece of theatre.’ This year, for the first time, the scheme will go beyond The Old Vic in a collaboration with Shoreditch Town Hall where, following the year-long attachment, the plays will be presented in spring 2021. This year’s chosen plays are: Gobble Gobble Gobble Gobble Goblin by Tim Foley, Fake Melania by Poppy Corbett and Jineolojî by Nessah Muthy.

There’s never enough time when you’re having to choose between steak dinners and vegan food bank vouchers, staying home for evening face mask rituals and wanting to save the world before it’s too late. Evelyn's suspicious when Fiz disappears to visit her mother and Tyrone gets dressed up for the night before heading out. Together with Roy, she follows Tyrone to a hotel bar and is aghast when she seems him squeezing the thigh of a blonde lady. Muthy, who is of British Mauritian heritage, was brought up by both of her maternal grandparents and raised in London. Steven Elder as Bedwin, the Bishop of Caer Cadarn, advisor to the king of Dumnonia and one of Mordred's three protectors. [6]In 2023 she was listed in Deadline as A Rising Writer To Watch Out For and in Broadcast Magazine a Broadcast Hot Shot. Nessah: As a writer I was weirdly writing/analysing my own narrative - and it wasn’t a good one! I was also starting to self-harm. I became very suicidal because I was so scared of hurting my kids that I just thought I’d be better off not being here.

Nessah: My personal story is ultimately a survival story and Cradled is too. I wanted to show that there is hope but also to create a strong and authentic portrayal of mental illness. Before I was diagnosed with OCD I didn’t know what it was and felt so ashamed, so raising awareness was so important to me. I remember going to mother and toddler groups and meeting other mums who were like: “oh, I take that drug too” or “I felt that too” just knowing you’re not alone in your experiences is so powerful. I hope Cradled will make people feel less alone and that even if you are experiencing what Maia is experiencing, you can get help, that you can get better. All the kids are initially intimidated, but Nanny (Erin Geraghty) and her daughter Bella (Sarah Akokhia) soon put the children at ease. Nanna talks us through the models crammed into her home and, gradually, cherished memories take over the living room. We look at a tiny model of Nanny and Bella dancing at Butlins and a disco ball suddenly spins over our heads. Nanny remembers a rainy caravan holiday and shining rainbow-lights burst through the ceiling. The real world and the imagined begin to merge. She began her career in the 1980s as an actress with the theatre company Monstrous Regiment. As a feminist she's fascinated by the control issues around food and body image. "In the Victorian age women were policed over their sexuality; by the 1960s sex was OK, so they had to find something else to police you about." Following her birth, the thoughts weren’t as intense as I thought they might be, however, they were definitely there. I remember having moments when I was sliding down the door, as Maia does, feeling overwhelmed by it. There was never a major kind of crisis point, I just tried to push through and push through, but, amongst the joy, there was a lot of intense anxiety and worry. With my second child, however, the birth was very traumatic and that really triggered my OCD. Ellora Torchia (Maia), Damien Molony (Lenny)The piece for four actors is set in a sinister David Lynch-style restaurant. During the performance a variety of tastings will be served to the audience, with an emphasis on sound, smell and memory. Part of Channel 4’s ‘On the Edge’ drama anthology, Cradled is a powerful portrayal of postpartum psychosis. My Mum is from Morden [London] and my Dad is from Mauritius. I was brought up as white, for want of a better phrase, but I have very brown skin, so there’s an inherent duality in who I am. That means that I am always shapeshifting and experimenting,” she says. When Sarah tells Stephen that she and Michael had their meeting in the factory as first intended, he's horrified when it dawns on him that CCTV footage will exist of him killing Teddy. Wanting to wipe the footage of her meeting, Sarah talks Stephen through the process of deleting CCTV footage. She added: “The working class, as a group, there’s an idea or a feeling that they’re being lectured to and being told what they should and shouldn’t do.
