About this deal

I never really felt emotionally connected to these characters, and frankly, with the exception of Max, I didn't care for them much. Then there were two young women who quite clearly had had too many drinks and were puking up all over themselves shortly followed by a man in his late teens who was suffering from drug abuse. Faith Hogan, bestselling author of The Ladies' Midnight Swimming Club What happens when you drop a bag of cash right in the middle of three siblings and their families? An emergency has been declared at the hospital, they are requesting as many doctors, medics and nurses as possible to help out. honesty came in many hues between the absolutes of black and white, and she imagined that even honest people generally found a shade of grey that suited them to fit the circumstances.

The narrative plays out like a slow-motion car crash, as this once close-knit family starts disintegrating before your eyes; some of them motivated by greed, others by a desire to do the right thing. I found myself debating what I would do in a similar situation and wondering which of the characters’ responses would most match my own. I would have liked the epilogue to have picked up on some of the overarching themes about honesty and self interest a bit more explicitly.I often wondered how this would end and what would they decide, the ending is brilliant and makes it all fall into place. When such an emergency occurs, which fortunately is rare, whereby several casualties arrive at the same time. There are times, especially like now, when you are extremely tired, when you would like to shout loudly at someone for being so stupid and for wasting the hospital’s time. Its an easy and enjoyable read which gives a lot of food for thought and makes you wonder-What would I do if i was put in that same situation?

It is an interesting idea for a novel, and is written with plenty of cliff-hangers to keep the reader interested. My new book An Unwanted Inheritance, which is out in December, made it into the Hot New Releases chart this weekend. Julietta Henderson, author of The Funny Thing about Norman Forman Lovingly crafted, with flawed and nuanced characters, this riveting story will stay with readers long after the last page is turned.I don’t know if it was the mind frame I was in but this book didn’t grip me like I thought it might from the synopsis.
