If you were in a store, on the high-street your eye would definitely be drawn to these and that’s a big plus in my opinion. The ear tips are positive in our opinion. They are comfortable and conduct the sound very well. But they also do not transmit ambient noise. So you cannot hear yourself well while calling. That is something to keep in mind. Do you want to hear yourself while calling? Then try some foam ear tips from AliExpress. The X3 isn't a bass-focused earphone. The sub-bass doesn't dive very deep, and there's no heavy bass slam. The bass provides a nice thump that can pulsate in your ears and delivers enough power for electronic pop, modern dance music, and hip-hop, but it doesn't force itself where it doesn't belong. The bass on the Edifier X3 isn't a dominator; it's a companion.At some point you’ll need make a phone call or record a voice note. And, to ensure your voice is captured effectively the built in microphone in the headphones you use must be good quality. And, the good news is that the microphone on the Edifier X3 Earbuds is basic but does the job just fine. On our test, the audio was clear and the focus on details was good too. When listening to music with lots of instruments, the X3 was able to separate them so you can listen to them all in the music. The overall soundstage of this pair of earbuds was also pretty wide. Considering its price, the sound quality on the Edifier X3 was actually pretty good. The earbuds are equipped with Qualcomm® aptX™ audio decoding technology and SBC codec support which are designed to improve Bluetooth sound quality. The build is good. Far better than I expected for such a budget pair of earbuds and I can see them lasting me for a very long time. The longevity of them would also entirely depend on the internal components of which I can’t really put through their paces, so only time will tell if they live up to my expectations. The box contains everything you’ll need to get setup. It even includes a couple of spare silicone ear tips of different sizes. So you’ll be able to find one to fit your ears however large or small!
The specifications are fairly average. The only thing that stands out is that the earbuds are more waterproof than many other earphones in this price.As for the buds themselves, they fit perfectly for me. I had no issues or discomfort after long periods of use and that’s pleasant enough for me. It also doesn’t feel loose when wearing them, so if you face this issue, just swap out the eartips. Touch gestures are a welcome addition. And work well. I don’t like them as much as the AirPod ones but they do the job. Single Tap There is no wear detection onboard, so when you take the earbuds off, do know that the music will still be playing and won’t be automatically paused. Further emphasizing the brighter sound, the lower-mids are toned-down. Darker electronic tones and instruments like drums and cello's, or the piano's darker notes, play a merely supportive role on the Edifier sound. As a bonus of the clear X3-sound, you are treated to an airy soundstage, with good left-right separation and detail. In easier going songs, it's also possible to place instruments.

The Edifier X3's microphone is fine for the price. It does its job. You can be understood by your conversation partners and that is the most important thing. You can be understood by the person you are calling. Let's put that first. Although not in detail, the words can be distinguished for your conversation partner. More specifically: the Edifier X3 TO-U Series once again sounds balanced, with more focus on treble than on the bass and lower mid-tones. Coming with Bluetooth 5.0 and support for the Qualcomm aptX codec, the Edifier really excels when it comes to signal stability and audio response. The audio delays are unnoticeable, and I’ve never heard my music jitter or stutter before. A striking plus is that these earplugs come with slightly longer ear tips. That guides the sound into your ear better and you hear less ambient noise.
I love Edifier’s audio gear. It’s great quality and their audio equipment always does what they say it’ll do. They’re no if’s, but’s or maybes, it just works. The charging case has a 500mAh battery that will enable you to listen for a whopping 15 hours! There’s enough juice to last you a fair few days. And whilst we’re on the subject of battery life. One of the strengths of the Edifier X3 is the noise reduction technology, thanks to which the headphones are lightweight and have enough fit to provide high-quality passive noise isolation to give an immersive user experience. I’ve said previously that I love a good high end and that’s still the case! In fact, on systems where I can tune the bass, mids and high’s myself I often crank the treble up to really allow them to sing. Whether it’s a cymbal, high-hat or a double snare I want to hear it. Overall, I really like the design & styling. They are understated and will suit everyone regardless of your overall fashion style. I quite like the fact that some people would call them ‘boring’. It’s a plus, in my opinion. I don’t want everyone to notice I’m wearing a pair of decent headphones especially if I’m ever travelling through no so desirable areas. IP55 Waterproof Rating

Despite being a pair of budget earbuds, the Edifier X3 comes with a touch control panel. The earbuds come fitted with a high-precision touchpad which we were greatly impressed by. It was easy to control and very responsive. Unfortunately, there is a slight audio delay of about 0.5 seconds when playing games, which is almost normal, and you can find it on most wireless headphones in this price range. Edifier X3Battery And Charging Time According to Edifier, the X3 does have an IPX5 rating for water and dust protection. So, I tested it out by bringing it for a shower. And what do you know, it still worked fine after all the splashes it got.
