About this deal

I appreciated the ability to fine-tune the heel strap to my preference, whether it was a snug fit for more challenging trips or a looser one for casual walks. The only downside I could find in terms of comfort was that the initial break-in period for the Teva Hurricane XLT2 was slightly longer than expected. While they were comfortable overall, it took a few wears for the strap system to fully adjust to my foot shape. 6. Weight The Teva Hurricane XLT are open-toe, 4-strap hiking sandals that can take on trails or water with ease. They don’t have a toe-post, have been updated for increased grip and a softer EVA midsole. If you want a pair of do-it-all hiking sandals this is a good place to start. The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandals and the Teva Terra Fi 5 Universal are both high-quality outdoor sandals from the same brand but with a few significant differences in design. Teva's Hurricane XLT series walking sandals are some of the finest entry-level ones available on the market and they come with a fair and competitive price point. Those that love outdoors adventures on hot summer days should appreciate their water-friendly, grippy and lightweight construction. Although they seem to have a large footprint - no pun intended - they are still ideal for activities such as kayaking and hiking. Regardless of terrain, these sandals support the feet quite well - the resilient design with deep threads on its outsole for satisfying traction is also super cosy with its supportive midfoot, soft and contoured footbed, and cupped heel area. Even if you are flat-footed, it should serve you well when you're out there busy exploring the wilderness. Furthermore, the EVA-foam insoles practically don't require a break-in period. Adjustability: Simply Great

While the Teva Hurricane XLT2 is a reliable outdoor pair of sandals, it does have a few areas where it could be improved. On the other hand, the Xero Z-Trail EV focuses on minimalism, featuring a lighter construction and a thin, flexible sole that offers a barefoot-like feel. The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandal brings several improvements while maintaining some of the qualities that made its predecessor popular. However, the Teva Hurricane XLT had a slightly sturdier construction overall. While the Teva Hurricane XLT 2 is still sturdy, some users might prefer the older version’s robustness for a more demanding trail. How Does it Compare with Other Products? Teva Terra Fi 5 Universal I used my previous Hurricane XLTs in a similar fashion but found that traction when wet was greatly impaired and the sandal itself felt like walking on a wet washcloth. The XLT 2 seems to have gotten rid of this issue and I found it comfortable to keep them on the entire day, from the lake to the trail to camp. Digging Deeper

At only 1 lb. 4 oz., this great pair of sandals felt lightweight and airy, which was particularly appreciated during hot weather.

It excels in providing a barefoot-like experience while still offering adequate protection and grip. What I noticed though is that the fit can be a bit narrow, especially in the toe box area. Furthermore, Teva doesn’t do half sizes, so if you have wide feet, you may need to size up a full size. How It Evolved? The Hurricane XLT 2 range is Teva’s latest addition to their popular range of sandals. It’s a model that’s specifically tailored towards outdoor adventuring, with a sole that’s shaped for the trail to bring plenty of cushioning and grip. The webbing and straps are durable and perform well in the water. The heel cushion is a nice touch for comfort. Teva’s design is unique, and remains almost unchanged from the original hiking sandal. There are enough adjustments to really dial in fit. However, the design might not be ideal if you have high arches, and you may need additional orthotic inserts. The Teva Hurricane XLT 2 sandal didn’t hinder my movements or make me feel fatigued, allowing me to enjoy my summer adventures without any unnecessary burden. Moreover, the secure stitching and reinforced toe area provided additional protection against potential damage. Despite encountering rough terrain and sharp objects, the Teva Hurricane XLT2 maintained its structural integrity. See our article for more information on hiking in Teva Sandals. Where Teva Hurricane XLT2 Falls Short in Performance? I was pleasantly surprised by the stability and confidence the sandals offered, especially on steep and challenging terrains.
