About this deal

The points of view shift between former marriage counselor Jules, who lost her son, Gabe, in a car accident while she was driving, and Amber, whose son, Isaac, survived the accident. Juliet “Jules” Hart continues to be agonized by memories of the night she skidded to avoid a deer, sending her car onto, then into, an ice-covered lake. Meanwhile, Isaac Greer, the teenage boy she had rescued is now missing and his family is trying to find him. Allen has been in and out of juvenile detention centers since he was a kid and was just waiting for someone to come along and help.

I’m down with a slow burn, I’ve defended a LOT of slow burn books over the years and even as recently as this week. If the author is doing it, it has to be done very well to be authentic, and it wasn’t done well here. If you've read any of Lucinda Berry's previous work it's no secret that she refuses to skirt around the darker issues in life and just nose dives straight into them, and Off The Deep End was no different. At that stage I did not know what I was in for… let me set the record straight after reading 4 or 5 of LB’s other books and loving Appetite for Innocence and Phantom Limb to a 5⭐️star level - I was ready for this. The book has two first person perspectives: Jules, who is having interviews from a psychiatrist, and Issac's mother, Amber, who is going understandably mad trying to find out what has happened to her missing Son.

Wes is recovering from rupturing his Achilles’ tendon, an injury that could have ended his Olympic dreams. What Off the Deep End is about: A mother, her son and her sons friend crash into freezing waters and she thinks she grabs her son but realizes it’s the friend and then that friend goes missing I think a year later. This is a story of how two men can help each other through their highs and lows, whilst also not being able to keep their hands off each other! Overall though, this *is* a five star review, so I’m going to recommend you read this book – if for no other reason than maybe I’m wrong and there was genuinely a great tale in here that I just didn’t pick up on?Well, good news for you - Monson has written a poignant yet hilarious tale of love, loss, and advent. Please only post requests for suggestions, not unsolicited recommendations or “should I read this book or that book” type posts. I felt the dual POV's that were relatively opposing to each other really kept the intensity up throughout the story and you never fully knew who to trust. There were a couple of holes that were left, including the initial person of suspect that the police were linking Isaacs's disappearance too. Jules might have even been someone who I could have developed actual sympathy for, if not for her gross behavior.

From the bestselling author of The Best of Friends comes a heart-stopping psychological thriller about the shades of truth and the power of lies in the wake of one mother's unspeakable loss. Until it becomes a hurricane of brokenness and a disconnected headspin of off-the-wall actions and mindless occurences.

It was kind of just expected and a bit meh and all a bit too over the place to create any real suspense. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. Full disclosure: I am/was not on her hype squad for this book, but will forever hype her and her books up.

He captured headlines when it was revealed that he and his wife Becki had participated in a years-long bizarre sexual relationship with a pool attendant they met at the Fountainbleu Hotel in Miami Beach.Amber is convinced that Jules has some involvement while her shocked husband is expecting to hear their son is the third victim of the serial killer. There is plenty of heat, and I enjoyed that the intimate scenes are grounded in emotional connection. It’s been a long time since I’ve flew through a book like this and I have to credit that to Berry’s writing style!
