About this deal

A large section of the book could easily have been labelled as merely "Bolter-Porn" but through leveraging Mortarion's character arc, several interesting side characters and the evolving character of the nascent Death Guard, none of the constant butchery seems gratuitous at all. While the focus of this book was always going to be on Mortarion, the novel actually does a solid job for its pagecount of adding depth to those characters that do make a cameo. As he answers Horus’s and Sanguinius’s questions, he insists throughout that there was no way other than what he chose to do.

This isn’t really a bad book, it’s just so boringly inconsequential that you’re really going to get nothing from it. Also this "The Imperium, but even more swarm-like and worse" is in a few of the novels in this series so maybe they all have the same origin.

This society was discovered by the ship Manifest Unity (pretty awesome 30k ship name) which was destroyed.

Conocer más a fondo al personaje fue un punto a favor del libro, porque te muestra muy bien sus motivaciones y su forma de actuar antes de la herejía. The other two tell him that because of his methods and brutality the people dont know what to do with their freedom and his body counting decree made it so he just replaced another tyranny with another. Mortarion is a bit stunned here and other two primarchs leaves seemingly really hoping Mortarion changes his ways.

Mortarion and the Death Guard do not take kindly to Galaspar’s nonsense, and they reap the scythe across the planet in a brutal, horrendous manner. He is unwilling to let those in bondage suffer any longer than is absolutely necessary and he has very little patience for anyone who is willing to view human suffering as a single piece in a larger puzzle. One of the things I’ve always enjoyed about Mortarion is that he shared Corax’s distaste for oppressors. They manage to blow them up, but many die after the tunnels are filled with molten ore from the factories afterwards which earns Typhon a promotion.
