About this deal

Now, for the story, I can’t say for sure I followed every tiny detail and I admit skim reading some parts (not because it was bad or boring, but to find out what happens next), but it’s impossible not to say this plot is extremely well thought out and interesting. When he finally realizes the "malice" concealed in his body, he becomes entangled in a disatrous tragedy. But, for sure this story is worth reading, well played, well written with a semi realistic style which comes to complete it quite greatly.

Amazing character writing, everyone has a connection whether it be a good or bad one, they're written well. At first it reminded me of the most hardcore parts of Minoru Furuya’s mangas (a hapless underdog who ends up involved in a life-or-death situation with sociopathic elements of the Japanese underworld), except that this story lacks any humor. One person realizes that the protagonist is struggling with some ghastly mental issue: an aloof young woman who attends the same college. So as I said at the beginning, if you are new to the genre I can recommend it, but if you are looking for something new this is not the manga you are looking for. The artist's distinctive style adds an additional dimension to the dark and terrifying atmosphere of the story. As his life is thrown into a spiral of disarray, he embarks on a journey to resolve the mess of the last three days and get Kyouka to accept his past. The knowledge on DID is very limited even in the modern age and this manga's depiction of it should not be taken as fact in any way.

The use of real mental illness in media and entertainment is a tricky thing to portray and the way DID is portrayed in this particular manga makes me extremely uncomfortable to say the least. Overall great character writing, every character has an appropriate amount of screentime and well written backstories. They idolize the aforementioned serial killer to the extent that they welcomed the protagonist, the serial killer’s son, with open arms. Each character has their own distinctive artistic style, whether it's carefree, mysterious, strong, or resentful. However, the subtle cracks are ignorable and do not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story. He has no clue how he started dating her, but she seems quite taken with whoever was commanding the protagonist’s brain until then.
