About this deal

Really rather glorious – like a Volnay in its perfume and delicacy, but as substantial as fine red burgundy. This is a sumptuous and striking champagne with a smooth, tight and undeniably sophisticated finish.

Every vintage page from the most recent to the oldest has detailed charts showing production by region and the most popular, best, most expensive and cheapest wines of the vintage currently listed. Opulent fruit – so opulent it almost tastes as though there were a higher dosage, and yet with an energising bitter note on the end. As a point of interest, he taught this method to Benedictine monk, Thierry Ruinart, in 1669, which allowed Ruinart to become the first Champagne house in 1729. It's named after the Benedictine monk who was cellarmaster at the Abbey of Saint Pierre d'Hautvillers in the 17th century. Since 1829, this moderately small house has worked tirelessly to acquire the finest vineyard sites, now totalling 163 ha, to guarantee the highest quality wine.v=1700935404","options":["Size"],"media":[{"alt":null,"id":36502322413881,"position":1,"preview_image":{"aspect_ratio":0. Dom Pérignon produces only vintage Champagnes, both blanc and rosé, and offer a number of late release bottlings under their Oenothèque and Plénitude labels. But, given the length of time this wine matured on lees, I'm quite surprised by the relatively light autolytic imprint. The 2002 Brut Rose explodes from the glass with endless layers of huge, voluptuous fruit, A big, full-bodied wine, the 2002 is probably the most overly vinous, intense Rose ever made by long-time Chef de Caves Richard Geoffroy.

Intense nose offering roasted nuts, nougat, pain d’épices, rose petal and seductive fruit like wild raspberry and peach. The 2008 Dom Pérignon Rosé continues to drink brilliantly, exhibiting aromas of orange, red berries, pear, pastry, spices and some smoke with time in the glass. o. 70cl","handle":"chivas-regal-12-y-o-70cl","description":"The world-famous Chivas Regal Scotch blend has been a luxurious choice since the 1900's.

After at least eight years of lees ageing in the cellars, the wine enters its first phase of interest, Plenitude 1, showing quite youthful fruit and broad texture from the lees contact.

And then miraculously - as in 2000 or 2006, and the mythic 1996 vintage - September's sun and winds completely reversed the situation.

Dom Pérignon Rosé springs from this desire to dare, seizing the red of the pinot noir grape in its primal radiance, capturing its vital power in a bold, assertive assemblage. With dominant fruit flavours and aromas, it is a true embodiment of the 2009 harvest, and a vintage that's not to be missed.
