About this deal

New characters are introduced, old characters are reinvented and the whole comic holds the reader's interest through the whole run. Along the way, the Thing battles the Hulk, the Surfer is taken captive by Galactus and the Overmind menaces Earth - leading to the strangest event in Marvel history: Doctor Doom joins the FF? To read the Claremont/Byrne run, or early Claremont, period, is to see the X-Men's universe taking shape as innumerable new characters are introduced.

In this book, children will be explained what viruses are - a more-than ever actual topic, how they move and what behaviours help to limit their spreading. It seems like the type of attitude that suggests that such creatures are not fit to govern themselves – which is disturbingly like a rationale used by many anti-abolitionists in the lead-up to the American Civil War. The Omnibus format is what you can expect; decent binding, thick paper and good sizing (however, given the format of 80's comics, the images do not go to the edge of paper.Personajes icónicos, villanos totemicos e historias de buena complejidad que mantienen un grado de interés bueno y adictivo; de lo mejor de Stan Lee.

And the creators knew they were on to a winner since the deadly Doctor was back in the very next issue, teamed with a reluctant Sub-Mariner to attack our heroes as ‘The Deadly Duo! John Byrne's run on Marvel's First Family is a lot of fun to read, perhaps more fun than the Stan Lee-Jack Kirby run (at least for me anyway).BUT if sometimes you just want a rollercoaster fun-packed comic book to entertain you, GET THIS and enjoy seeing the birth of modern comics again! See,” Ben states, “us good guys have a code that stops us from hurtin’ even bad guys too much… but when it comes to Skrulls… Hey, even Nazis are nicer than you creeps! Light surface crease along lower edge of inside front flap of jacket, light spine end rubbing, Fine and bright, unmarked. For all that, were one tempted to compare this with Byrne's early epochal collaboration with Chris Claremont on Uncanny X-Men, there's a fairly obvious difference: the level of creativity on display here doesn't come close to UXM.

During the 1990s he produced a number of creator-owned works, including Next Men and Danger Unlimited. A bit wordy at times and a constant reminder in each issue of each characters abilities and back stories can be a bit monotonous and sometimes make it a chore to get through (this is the longest it's taken me to read an omnibus; needed several breaks, but I still enjoyed it), but it's really just a staple of the time. While Byrne joined the book after Claremont had established his new model for Marvel’s merry mutants, it was arguably with Byrne that the title really came into its own – the pair collaborated on the iconic Dark Phoenix Saga, which remains one of the most beloved Marvel story arcs ever told. Any story which deliberately violates core concepts and themes of original materials is not, by definition “a good story. But in any case it's a mix of fun action, humor, complex plots that kind of sneak up, humanizing a comic book family, and some really dynamic character designs and action lines and stuff. Their assurance of secure packaging, if anything, was understated: layer after layer, I wondered if the book actually did exist in the middle!

The first story in the omnibus is a two parter from Marvel Team-Up featuring Spiderman, the Human Torch, and Ms. whilst ‘Questions and Answers about the Fantastic Four’, and a diagrammatic trip ‘Inside the Baxter Building’ evoke awe wonder and understanding. And I have not even mentioned the usual ( you know, individual character development, the true to life arguments etc that revamped superhero fiction).

I haven't read Stan Lee's and Jack Kirby's version of Fantastic Four, but I can imagine that Byrne got very close to their run in the terms of quality, storytelling and art. In a real and recognizable location – New York City – imperfect, raw-nerved, touchy people banded together out of tragedy, disaster and necessity to face the incredible. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
