But it was also daunting because I knew I would have to take on the mantle of a racist, and I wasn't sure if I would be able to make that work in a children's book. If I'd been writing for adults it would have been different -- I don't feel that adults can be influenced by a book in the same way that a child can, and I never worry about treading a moral high ground in my books for older readers -- I feel like I have more of a license to take readers into uncomfortable areas, to explore the dark regions of the human experience without feeling the need to present any counter-arguments, figuring by the time you reach adulthood, you should have learned the difference between right and wrong, and if you haven't, then there's probably not a lot that a writer can do to reach you. For a traditional zombie outfit, you can opt for distressed, ripped, or patched pants, with a messy but fashionable design to bring out the whole zombie vibe. Are you ready, or at least want to look ready for the zombie apocalypse? With the human obsession over the macabre and death, it’s no surprise zombies have become culturally pervasive. Zombie-inspired looks can be surprisingly colorful for the living dead, as they add that extra bit of funk to any outfit. Shan [e]nters the zombie genre in a thoroughly bloody fashion with this slow-burning horror piece, which opens a planned 12-book series. Character development is impressive for a relatively short book, and Shan executes the transition from normalcy to wholesale terror masterfully. It's a strong start, but there's a lot of story left to go. [10]Location: The key is on the floor next to the lounge chairs to the left of the Pirate’s Catch Restaurant on the map. Little, Brown (16 October 2012). " Zom-B by Darren Shan – Review". Publishers Weekly– via Brown Little. Of course that's nonsense, yet many people believe the lies, especially people who (like me when I was younger) don't travel much or get to mingle with people from other cultures. I felt I had to do what I could to get young readers questioning the ways of their elders, to decide for themselves what is right or wrong, to look for the truth behind the cloud of lies. The main message I wanted to impart was -- QUESTION EVERYTHING!

Location: Near the alley door, on the concrete area with the metal railings, just outside the Glitter Dolls Nightclub. Get some inspiration from shows like “The Walking Dead” and dress up as your favorite character for next Halloween from our collection of zombie costumes for men and women! Where, when, and how you wear your zombie clothing is completely up to you! Be creative, and have fun flaunting your zombie costumes and clothing every day. Now, personally, with Zom-B I believe I have come up with the greatest ending ever imagined by a writer, but then again, I believe that every time I finish a long series! I’m prepared for the worst thing a writer can possibly encounter – not outright negativity, but mere indifference – but I’m hoping that readers will be excited by the book’s ending, that it takes them by surprise by not being what they were expecting, yet at the same time ends up being more than they dreamed possible. And if it’s not, and I let some of them down, the way lots of us writers of long series tend to do in the opinion of many of our readers?Location: West Ridge – On the monitor station on the second floor of the West Ridge Emergency Shelter. Location: Find this key in the Old Town Emergency Shelter, in the room to the left of the front entrance.

The protagonist, B Smith, lives with her mother, Daisy Smith, and father Todd Smith – who is incredibly racist. Todd also suffers for anger management issues and beats both B and Daisy when angered. B struggles to not follow in her father’s footsteps, she really doesn’t want to be racist like he is. These books aren't beautifully written works of art but they are mindless fun with a deeper message if you want to get into it. The characters are really interesting and the plot twists are always wild. Though that being said things are pretty deep at times, this series makes you feel really sorry for the person who's the villain and it forces you to question everyone at all times. Also there's a lot of racist themes throughout so be aware of that before you start reading these books. I love the journey B goes on and was so much more interested in them trying to justify the racism that they see from their father and that they find themselves involved in than the zombies themselves. I really love character growth and think if it's done well then it's so amazing. [13] [14] Adaptation [ edit ] Read a full summary of Zom-B by Darren Shan below.
