In my early twenties I started to identify as a Witch but wasn’t quite sure what type of Witch I was yet, as this takes time and experimentation to discover.Then you start looking into properties of herbs, and crafting things that suit the needs of those you’re going to serve it to.

I was adamant I would never cook or clean or have children or wear dresses or any of that because that is what stereotypes expect of women. In 2022, there are many, many types of witches—a quick scroll through WitchTok will show you everything from traditional rituals to a more wellness-based approach focused on affirmations. They draw their power, tools, and rituals from the earth and the great outdoors and use plant, flower, and herbal preparations as a primary source of spell ingredients and ritual content. I ultimately felt like this book is an overview of a lot of information contained elsewhere with no real direction to go into that information more in depth—a personal reference and notes dashed down to remember recipes without having to keep referencing a bunch of other materials. Even if the cottage witch lives in an apartment they will likely grow flowers on their window sill or balcony.

Life really is in the details and I believe the little things DO matter- especially when we see them as the building blocks of the goal and the big picture.
