About this deal

There's also the fact I turned 40 at the start of this year, so now I'm starting to feel old myself. I can totally relate to the old man. Except for all the killing and stuff, obviously. And the dogs.

Disney Nordic and Studiocanal are releasing a film at Christmas. Everyone but me, it seems, loves the thing: And it certainly begins well enough. Allan Karlsson, a resident of a retirement home in Malmköping, is one hundred years old, and the director Alice has decided to throw him a party. Everyone will be there; even the Lord Mayor has been invited. Sounds good, yes? But Allan couldn’t care less. In fact the thought of merrymakers in an old folks’ home is definitely not his cup of tea. So … well you know what happens next don’t you? This is a centenarian who has nothing to lose. He's previously led a mercurial existence and this last hurrah is the cherry to crown a life of hurrahs.I won't even bother with a full synopsis, I'll just strike through what I though were really bad moments.

Who are some of your favorite writers? Can you include one or two NON-thriller/mystery writers among them? You’ve set your novel in Vermont, the Chicago area, the mountains above Los Angeles, Toronto, Canada, and Libya, among other locations. How did you go about creating such vivid settings? Allan had a particular skill – he was a very competent explosive expert, and intentionally or unintentionally people around him were often blown up. Now, Allan was a “politically blind” person without the slightest intention in religion. But, always found himself in situations where he was forced to use his deadly skills.

Tangcay, Jazz (January 17, 2023). " 'Avatar: The Way of Water' Leads Visual Effects Society Awards Nominations". Variety . Retrieved March 15, 2023. For starters, this book is absurd. And not absurd in the fictional way, not fantasy-absurd. No. Real absurd. There's nothing plausible about this work. I know, after reading it, that it was probably meant to be absurd and that in general fiction is supposed to touch on situations that might not be real, but Jonasson went out of his way to make this one really test your patience! And, frankly, it does just that - it doesn't appeal to your imagination, rather it punches your endurance right in the face and yells at her until you finally decide you've had enough. Now, don't bust my balls over this. Fiction - I do know - is not real. But at least with good fiction, the author tries to make it as plausible as possible. In here, the absurdity was multiplied by the horrifying sense of humor that the author seemed to enjoy. But right now the world is a much better place because this story made me laugh for everything that is wrong with our human existence. Just for once. a b c Andreeva, Nellie (August 13, 2021). " 'The Old Man' Targets 2022 Premiere As FX On Hulu Series Starring Jeff Bridges Eyes Return To Production". Deadline Hollywood . Retrieved February 18, 2022. You’ve written both series and standalone novels. What do you find gratifying about each approach? Are there downsides to either, and if so, what?
