About this deal

Nevertheless, a vertical mouse will be the best ergonomic mouse option for most users. It mitigates the musculoskeletal issues caused by overuse of a standard mouse while retaining most of the experience of using one. For gamers and creative pros who may not be able to use one all the time, the answer may be having two mice—a vertical model for everyday use, and a curved, palm-supporting conventional mouse for occasional precision work. That said, one of the weirdest things about the Unimouse is also the very best: the thumb rest. Rather than being built into the mouse itself, it sits on an extendable, adjustable arm, so just like the top half of the mouse, you can position and angle it exactly how you want it. This adjustability – not to mention the thumb rest’s deep curve and pleasant-feeling dotted grip – delivers far better thumb support than even a lot of other ergonomic mice. With a state of the art Pixart (PMW3330) sensor, it provides seamless performance on almost any surface at a working distance of up 8 meters, while ten cursor speed selections let you work at your own pace. Many vertical designs by manufacturers such as Ergonomique and Anker simply use a convex shape cut into the mouse’s body as a thumb rest. This is more ideal than just a flat side, which wouldn’t provide any support at all, but still assumes a one-size-fits-all approach, which, depending on your grip and hand size, can still leave your thumb slipping down the side. The Unimouse, conversely, gives your thumb its very own little cradle, which can be rejigged to accommodate different hands down to the millimetre.

Disconnect any Multimedia Controller PRO or Multimedia Controller Xpress device connected to the Mac. After reboot, feel free to start using the software. It should start automatically with starting the computer the first time after installation, but will not do so after future reboots and boot-ups.Charging the built-in battery is accomplished by connecting the included USB 3.0 cable to your PC. The USB cable also transfers data, so you can use the mouse immediately after plugging it in, even if the battery is dead. A full charge takes about two hours, and Contour claims that you can go up to three months before you need to charge it again. Finally, thanks to a ball mount, the rest itself can be rotated in any direction independently of the arm that connects it to the rest of the mouse. Down, up, side to side—you can even rotate it 180 degrees, although it's nearly symmetrical so there's little reason to. I find it the most comfortable when the rest is in the maximum upward position. When it's angled downward, my thumb frequently slips off unless I apply gentle pressure. Ga naar Gebruikers en groepen, Inloggen en controleer of er een Contour-element in de lijst staat met een gele “gevarendriehoek” ernaast. Als dat het geval is, verwijder dit element dan door op de “min”-knop te klikken. Lithium-Ion Polymer battery provides up to three months of power on a single charge and our Data+Charge cable will allow you to charge while you work to help eliminate downtime. Our clever “Smart Sleep” battery system ensures a long-lasting wireless experience by hibernating when not in use.

The Unimouse is different. It’s split into two distinct parts, with the base and sensor on the button and the top half – where all the buttons sit – attached via a hinge, not just part of the same frame as the base. This hinge lets you decide how vertical a grip you want, so long as it’s within the 35° to 70° range. This is a vertical mouse, which means that while the base still has a sensor facing onto the desk – like any other mouse – the buttons and scroll wheel are flipped up and to the side. As a result, you end up holding it with your palm in a much more vertically oriented position.

The silver lining with the Unimouse driver is that if all you want to adjust is the cursor speed, you don't even have to install the driver. You can press the cursor speed button on the mouse itself, which will cycle through 10 speed selections from 800dpi to 2,800dpi. A combination of red and green LEDs light up to tell you which speed you've selected; to decode the combination, you'll need to refer to the owner's manual. If applicable, uninstall the old contour driver software using the standard way of uninstalling apps and software on Windows. Should you be unsure about how to do this correctly, please follow the steps in Microsofts documentation: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/uninstall-or-remove-apps-and-programs-in-windows-4b55f974-2cc6-2d2b-d092-5905080eaf98).Posture variation is the cornerstone of ergonomics, which is why the Unimouse is designed so that you can explore its 4 friction-based points of articulation to find your own unique comfort. Effortlessly switch postures on the fly and engage different muscles and tendons while avoiding fixed, static positions. Selecteer het instellingenbestand (dit bestand heeft .multimediacontrollerSettings als extensie, bijvoorbeeld Final Cut Pro X.multimediacontrollerSettings).

However, the Unimouse is also guilty of a similar oversight, but on the other side: our little finger often ended up dropping down and getting caught on the edge, a risk made greater by the vertical design. This could possibly have been solved with a larger lip around the base of the mouse, like a smaller version of the static, flat thumb rests common to Mad Catz mice. Still, the edge flares out slightly, and there’s a patch of textured plastic there for some extra grip; those with smaller mitts, or even just a tighter grip, might not have the same issue.

Uninstall the Contour Mouse driver, like you would any other application (e.g.: from "applications" menu, drag it to the bin) What’s more, if you’re not used to the feel of a vertical mouse, which in fairness is very different to a traditional one, then being able to adjust the angle makes it possible to ease yourself in gradually. You can start with a low angle, and as you become more used to the notion, you can slowly go more vertical over time, until you’re at the highest (and most ergonomically friendly) angle. There are plenty of vertical mice, but the Unimouse takes this concept and expands on it. Having the right shape is clearly a big part of good ergonomic practice, but another is adjustability, and far fewer mice focus on this as well. Please follow the steps below carefully to properly uninstall any previous Contour Mouse drivers, and install the latest driver. Uninstall the Contour Shuttle driver using the Contour Shuttle Uninstaller found in the Help menu of the Contour Shuttle app.
