The Naturehike Cloud Up is a freestanding 2-layer tent meant for 3-season use. It is available in 1P, 2P and 3P sizes. Also, if you plan to hike and camp with your dogs or other pets, upsizing to the Cloudup 3 will allow for more room to bring them along. Would We Recommend It? The rainfly is coated only to 2000mm, which is half the water-resistance of the Taga 2. The Vik 1 is lighter than the Taga 2, though, and is a much better option for a solo camper. It would also be a good choice for an adult and a dog. Just watch the dog’s claws on the tent floor because they’ll shred it if they’re not clipped short!
There are 2 different materials that you can choose from when selecting your Cloudup 2 tent. It comes in a 210T Polyester or 20D Nylon. The nylon option can be a little bit lighter, but it stretches and sags when wet. The polyester will hold the shape better during rain and is said to be a little less waterproof. While it’s certainly not the lightest or most spacious option on the market, this tent is reliable and comfortable, without a hefty price tag. Design, Material, & Performance If you’re going to be covering long distances in reasonably mild weather, the Vik 1 would be the best choice. For a wetter and windier itinerary, I’d take the slightly heavier Taga 2.

So, what’s the verdict after our first look at the Naturehike Cloud Up Tent? We went into this expecting to find a perhaps slightly lower quality (given the price) version of the Big Agnes Fly Creek. But to be honest, the quality of craftsmanship looks very impressive. I would say almost comparable to the Fly Creek itself. More Vents on the Cloud Up 3. I never had condensation issues even with my old version of the Cloud Up 2, so this feature probably only matters if you are winter camping.

You can get an upgraded version with a second vent, which I highly recommend you do. It will be worth it in the long run because you won’t end up having to buy a better-ventilated tent as you progress in your camping journey. So, this tent is actually best for two smaller campers or a single larger camper rather than two tall adults. There was never any leaking from the seams or the floor. The bathtub floor only goes up about 2 inches, so don’t put this tent anywhere you think it might flood! And definitely use the groundsheet.
