About this deal

The hose. 1/2" - given the low flow rate from the tap, and low "Head", the frictional loses on 25M of hose will be considerable. Repeat the watering can filling test, but using the full length of the hose (already primed). Put the watering can in the original position (under the tap) but fill it from the end of the hose instead. Presumably that is even slower than when filled from the tap direct? On a similar basis - you usually have a header tank in your loft for you to have enough water pressure (gravity drop) to feed a shower - unless you have a pump on it. I use the tap to join a hose to the next waterbutt so that they maintain level. I don't care how slow that is, by "tomorrow" they will all have the same level again.

Parcelforce, for example, do not allow a parcel to be "left out". So my advice to anyone thinking of getting a water butt is to consider one with a decent width / opening at the top and/or a bigger bore tap at the bottom. If I expressed that badly in my earlier post I'm sorry. By working with a variety of trusted Range Plus Partners, we’re able to offer our customers a wider selection of products. Most water butts are supplied with a stand and can be placed on the ground in the corner of the garden. However, some water butts can be mounted on an external wall, a good option for smaller gardens where ground space is precious. You can also run guttering from a shed roof into a water butt as an efficient way to harvest rainwater – if you don't have one in your garden, you might find our comprehensive guide to the best garden sheds useful.
