Spices: I kept it suuuper simple. Cardamom pods, since cardamom is usually the star of karak tea, a tiny pinch of saffron for the beautiful fragrance and flavor it gives, as well as whole cloves. You can add more or less of anything you like. And then you’ll actually wake up every morning looking forward to having Karak Chai at home. And soon you’ll be so in love with karak chai, you won’t be able to function without it. Okay just kidding, it’s not that addictive. But it kinda is. Shhh, don’t tell anyone. 😛Elaichi and Masala is one spice known for its very pleasant aroma and amazing taste. The scent of these exotic spices makes tea drinking an enjoyable experience. Type of Beverages: HOT As the name implies that this tea is unflavored tea, which refreshes your mood and provides energy to work for longer period. After adding the tea, add the sugar, crushed cardamom pods (if using cardamom flavored evaporated milk then no need to use cardamom pods) and saffron, and bring to a boil again. P.S. In dire times, I've also resorted to adding cardamom powder (ONLY if I don't have cardamom pods OR cardamom flavored evaporated milk, and it works fine too). Once the sugar has caramelized into a liquid, slowly stream in the hot water. Stir to combine. If you don’t want to caramelize the sugar, you can add the sugar and hot water together to the saucepan, and stir until sugar dissolves.
