About this deal

People, some classmates and some not, bounced to the music, laughing and living it up. The hair on my arms stood on end at the sight of all the bustle and enthusiasm. The floors echoed the beat coming from the speakers, and I was speechless at the sight of so much activity in one space. People danced, horse-played, jumped, drank, and played football…yes, football, in the living room. Even after everything he'd done, part of me still missed that boy who was my waking thought and constant companion as a kid. But that Jared was gone now. In his place was a sour, hateful douchbag that had no regard for me." I am conducting what I'm shelving as a "New Adult (NA) Experiment". I'm going to work my way through some of the popular New Adult books and see if I can weed out the crap and hopefully find some surprising gems. Here's hoping! Bullying is a real-life problem and I felt the author did a great job showcasing its powerful ability to hurt the human soul while at the same time showing the resilience of the human spirit.

Mharis: It is. It was! Gotta warn you though, both books end in a cliffy!!! The third book’s release is on May 1st! And it’s a four-part series. ️ Ebert, Roger (December 28, 2001). "Defending Bully". Slate. ISSN 1091-2339 . Retrieved April 29, 2023. Even when Tate figures that K.C. goes out with Jared for a time, I found it hard to believe Tate would turn a blind eye or feel guilty for distancing herself from a friend who would do that. Granted, I know the lot of us have different coping points and thresholds for forgiveness, but this narrative asked me one too many times to overlook some jarring conflicts in an attempt to see how the leading love interests "get together." It was milked and manufactured and I did not see the constructiveness of its portrayal here. I really enjoyed Ms. Douglas writing style. She has created a wonderful heroine and captivating hero. I was very much rooting for Jared and Tate. The sexual tension and build-up was spellbinding. The first half of the book had me glued, but the second half felt rushed and glossed over. Bully left Jared and Tate in a good place. The sequel will be about Jared’s friend Madoc who had a prominent part in this story. Overall an excellent read! Charlotte Carson is forced to move to Connecticut when her father receives a position as headmaster of Adamson All-Boys Academy. The board plans to modernize the academy by allowing girls in and they want to use Charlotte as the guinea pig. However, who wants to be the only girl at an all-boys school? Well, I guess some people would like that, but Charlotte would prefer not to be the only girl. We can all guess what that means. But is that ever going to be enough for Tate? Can she ever trust Jared, or is it all just some ploy to get to her again? Like I said before, the main focus was on the romance, which let me tell you, was just plain shitty. I felt no chemistry between Tate and Jared whatsoever and couldn't even find myself sympathizing much with his past (oh yes, did I not mention? Mr. Mysterious here has his very own secret past to strip away all his faults, how perfectly understandable!) Tessa: Broken Wings: A Dark High School Romance (Dark Legacy Book 1) by Jaymin Eve and Tate James – OMG this book was my fantasy mix. Bully book with James’ great plot and story telling with Eve’s wonderful character writing. *thunks* Not reverse harem! Just bully book with great characters. GREY! FYI! It’s KU!

But I still just couldn't figure Jared out. Did he like her (somewhere deep down inside)? Did he hate her (unlikely, based on his actions and words)? What made him so angry with her? Why did he want to hurt her? Why did he want to protect her? ... Questions. Questions. Never-ending questions. I needed to know WHY! Lisa M: Omg I just finished Boys of Brayshaw High!! So good total Fallen Crest & Elite series feel. Such a cliffy can wait for the next one!!! I want it now!!! There are many messages in this book. It follows the story of Chloe, who won’t let the new girl, Maya, play with her and her friends. Eventually Maya stops coming to school, and Chloe realizes that a small act of kindness—like being Maya’s friend—could have gone a long way. All my energy was just so directed towards my vexation at them, I couldn't take it anymore. The sole reason I even finished this off was to finally discover what had induced Jared's initial coldness towards Tate (spoiler alert: it's disappointing). And then I forced myself to reach the finish line with ragged breaths to see how the author planned on ending this because THERE'S ACTUALLY A SECOND BOOK???????? Gag me. Debt Inheritance (Indebted Book 1) by Pepper Winters <— I know SO many loved hating this jerk-faced bully! Laura says:Inmate Population Information List". Dc.state.fl.us.
