About this deal
It doesn't take long for their act to bring all those other funny feelings out into the open, and, like most matters of the heart, it quickly begins to feel like anything but a joke. I appreciated that Farley and Meyer were equally dependent on each other and that, with Meyer’s daughter Hazel, there was a special family feel to their connection. The joy described on Hazel’s face when a stranger (Farley) unexpectedly started signing to her was so heartwarming. Now he is determined to help make her dreams of becoming a big time comedian reality if he can help. Both Farley and Meyer rely on each other so much for love, comfort, and support, and their friendship is truly something beautiful.
I enjoyed that this book was dual POV as it allowed us to see things from both Meyer and Farley’s perspectives. Thank you to Tarah Dewitt for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. But before I can come up with a snarky response and engage in our standard back-and-forth, Meyer’s hand grips my elbow, and I jolt.
Tarah Dewitt is not afraid to peel her characters' every layer to unravel their insecurities, their fears, but also their big hearts!
So, all joking aside, the stakes really are high when it’s not only her career, but both of those relationships on the line. The MC is bent over with her legs crossed tightly around each other, presumably so she doesn’t piddle. Also a side note: Miss Tarah does this thing where she gives an epilogue of the couple and it’s five years ten years later.
