We don’t get many narrative footholds, only oddly placed details and tidbits of information, and most of our knowledge of the protagonist comes from inferring things from his action. While the abrupt ending leaves readers craving more, it leaves a sense of incompleteness due to the scant storytelling that preceded it. It’s engaging stuff, well plotted with only a small amount of dialogue so the detailed and clear illustrations tell a lot of the story.
