About this deal

Mystery, romance, betrayal, redemption: There's plenty to hook readers in to this installment of Lia's saga and make them impatient for the volumes to come.” — Chicago Tribune This was just alarmingly, painfully bad. Everything is told straight to my face. There's no depth. And the dialogue is horrible and cheesy and predictable. I pushed away from the window, fogged with my own breath, and left the endless hills of Morrighan to their own worries. It was time for me to meet my day. To imply that it is when you have thousands of people who look to you for guidance should be criminal, or at the very least, frowned highly upon by the community at large and the people that actually did read this book.

And not only does she not care, she laughs ALL THE TIME. Ah-ha-ha-ha laughs. Like Keira Knightley ruining Elizabeth Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. "Running away equals TREASON to my hard-case father, who had my cousin hanged for desertion, and buried him in an unmarked grave along with his mother (hard-case father's SISTER), who threw herself off a cliff in despair." Lia’s brother Walther finds her and arranges a secret meeting. He is not angry with her for fleeing but comes only to make sure she is OK. Walther is married to Gretta and they are expecting their first child. Walther also warns her that the Scholar and the Chancellor are very angry. Lia, out of pure spite, stole some documents and an ancient book from the Scholar’s private office. Lia can’t read the strange language. Walther also tells her that Pauline’s sweetheart is a no good, two-timer. Lia doesn’t want to hurt Pauline and decides to tell her that Mikael is dead. And I think that it ended at the best possible moment, even if the wait for the next book is going to kill me.My mother relented, and I listened to the lonely echo of her footsteps as she retreated down the hallway. Setting aside the romance aspect of the novel, there is so much more going on. Between all the perilous journeys, there are secrets that Lia is in the wake of uncovering about herself, her kingdom and those that are closet to her father. I loved the chapter headings with the stories and “history” too. My stomach lurched, and I shifted my gaze closer to the bottom of the hill, where wagons lumbered on the road far below the citadelle, heading toward the town square, perhaps laden with fruit, or flowers, or kegs of wine from the Morrighan vineyards. Fine carriages pulled by matching ribboned steeds dotted the lane as well. She always thinks about others first (especially her brothers and her friends), and she’s not afraid of getting her hands dirty. And it’s not like she always succeeds in doing whatever she has in mind, but she puts all herself in what she does. And don't get me started on the whole first daughter, the gift, ancient texts, magic, the gods, scriptures, blah, blah, blah...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I get that you need some serious world building in a high fantasy novel, but I found myself either not paying attention or fast-forwarding over most of the scenes/passages pertaining to it. They felt like big chunks of boring info dumps and I realized that I really didn't care to know or find out about Lia's sight/gift whatever-whatever or how it came to be. In hindsight, this is probably why I liked the prince's and the assassin's POV's better than the MC's.

The Kiss of Deception Audiobook Free. I in addition enjoyed the pacing of overviews, as well as likewise the story was well played out. I will certainly specify nonetheless, if you are someone that suches as a large amount of action/fast paced tales, these publications might come off as a little bit slow-moving. I thought it operated actually well though, considering that i love character/relationship development along with there is a great deal of that throughout guides.I mean, what has more emotional impact? When you're shown two characters yelling lines of actual dialogue at each other so you can feel the punch of what they're saying, or when the narrator/character simply tells you "We argued loudly"? This is the kind of story I love--a heart-pounding tale of magic and murder, betrayal and romance set in a richly imagined fantasy landscape.” — Cinda Williams Chima, New York Times–bestselling author of the Seven Realms and the Heir Chronicles Expect everything, because with the plethora of twists (the holy shit kind; Bravo, Pearson!) you'll love both the boys vying for Lia's heart even if one of them will crush your heart in the process. The betrayal is bittersweet, somewhat understandable, because it tethers the line between love and duty and there's never an easy way to choose the one most powerful. After they travel on, Lia is able to escape for a day and finishes translating the book while on her own. It is a story about the beginning of Morrighan and the prophecy that someone named Jezelia will come to save her people. How does The Kiss of Deception end? Yes, there is a love triangle, which for me, was light. It didn't bother me greatly. I wasn't too invested in it anyway. I definitely like Rafe way more than Kaden; both as separate character and as a love interest. I don't really care for Kaden.

And right at the end, an even more heartbreaking moment. I really hope Lia gets them all! She's strong, she can do this! And for Arabella Celestine Idris Jezelia, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan, the fruits of her sacrifice and the blessings of…" This is the kind of story I love—a heart-pounding tale of magic and murder, betrayal and romance set in a richly imagined fantasy landscape.” —Cindy Williams Chima, New York Times–bestselling author of the Seven Realms and the Heir Chronicles A deeply satisfying, intricately plotted fantasy where no one – no one– is quite what they seem’ Robin LaFevers, New York Times-bestselling author of Grave Mercy Pauline has a sweetheart, Mikael, who is in the army. She believes that he will eventually come find her. She soon finds that she is pregnant with his baby.

Kaden was born to Cateryn of County Duerr, while she worked for Lord Roche as a governess in Morrighan. Kaden has the sight, like his mother - its manifestation at a young age contributed to his half-brothers' and The Lady's hatred of him. He comes to disdain the gift, and is slow to realize Lia also has the sight due to his prejudices regarding it. I'm not even saying that she shouldn't have ran away. The whole premise of the book comes from that, it's fine. But what REALLY rubbed me the wrong way was that she didn't even stop to consider what would happen to other people because of her actions. Like wtf, your country could go to war because of what you did and you're like "peace off bitches, I'm just gonna go chill as a waitress and flirt with some random dudes ok bye". Right, because that's not selfish at all.

But still she makes mistakes, and that is fine. She’s young after all, in a far away small town filled with strangers. Every Greek play has a Chorus. Here, the Chorus is me, Khanh. Wearing a blanket over my head because I don't have a white bathrobe. Also, I'm at work, and even in my cubicle, they'd probably frown upon me wearing a bathrobe, however chill my boss is. i decided to return the book and not continue, perhaps its because im in my 30s and need another type of fantasy book but some of the best books ive read are YA so this one was a surprised.

No, they do not. The plot opens with Princess Lia escaping an arranged marriage along with her maid. The escape itself is also very vague because I guess it would be inconvenient to have to explain how a princess who is kept on a very tight leash manages to escape a supposedly heavily-guarded palace. Every country has their own history, but if they all share one part - are they really that different from each other? We meet a main character, who is fierce and strong and has a stubbornness in herself, that’s filled with love for others, but also herself. She has a healthy self-consciousness and knows what is right or wrong. When I’m not with you, I wonder where you are. I wonder what you’re doing. I think about how much I want to touch you. I want to feel your skin, your hair, run every dark strand through my fingers. I want to hold you, your hands, your chin.” His face drew nearer, and I felt his breath on my skin. “I want to pull you close and never let you go”
