One important step you can take to help ease symptoms and prevent further problems caused by dry skin is to not scratch the affected area. If you use the Balneum Plus Medicinal Bath Oil in the shower, then apply it evenly on the body without any water.This means the packaging is plain, there is no mention of what product is inside your package and there is no mention of Chemist4U either. There is an increased risk of slipping due to the oil film on the skin and the oil film in the bath or shower. In cases of accidental contact with the eyes rinse out immediately with copious amounts of cold water.

There are no known interactions when using Balneum with other medicines but please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. If only a small area of skin is affected by dry, itchy skin, you can use Balneum to bathe the affected area in a bowl or sink.Benzyl benzoate (part of perfume) may cause local irritation and may increase jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes) in newborn babies (up to 4 weeks old).

Active ingredients include Lauromacrogols, which provide rapid relief of itching and Soya Oil, which is an emollient (moisturiser) to soothe and soften dry skin by replacing lost oils. To do this, rinse the bath and equipment thoroughly with hot water and then clean with a household cleaner. Pour the appropriate amount of Balneum Plus liquid into the bath as the bath is filling (please see below for correct measurements), be careful the water is not too hot.Avoid getting Balneum in your eyes, however, if this should occur, rinse immediately with clean water.
