About this deal

CAN I LAYER IT WITH OTHER INGREDIENTS?We do not recommend layering this with exfoliating acids (AHA, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Apple Cider Vinegar), Vitamin C and Retinols in the same routine as this can cause irritation. We suggest using these on alternative evenings and ensuring you start of slowly to ensure you don't sensitise the skin What products should I not layer together? >

Salicylic Acid is derived from willow bark, and is a Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA), as opposed to Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) like Glycolic and Lactic Acids. Whereas AHAs are water-soluble, BHAs are oil-soluble, and can therefore penetrate deeper into the pores of the skin. This is why BHA is often used for targeted spot treatments - more of which we’ll dive into later. What are the benefits of Salicylic Acid? The great thing about this ingredient is that it can be used in a multitude of formulations, from cleansers to masks. Here’s how we’d recommend trying Salicylic out: When it comes to usage, each toner will come with its own instructions – read them! – but a good general rule is to start with once a week and see how you go.

What is Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA)

SHOULDN’T I APPLY PHA TONER RIGHT AFTER CLEANSING? We suggest using your Hyaluronic Acid first, it can help your following products including toners work better acting as transport for them into the skin! Apply your Hyaluronic Acid and wait 30/60 seconds before gently patting your toner into your skin. This can absolutely be personal preference and you can use them the other way around if you prefer! In recent years, there has been a noticeable shift in the beauty industry, with a huge push towards sustainable, cruelty-free and vegan products. Hyaluronic AcidSerum as your first step after cleansing, then apply preferred treatments & moisturizer. First thing's first, what exactly are BHAs? Although the science-y term may sound intimidating, BHA stands for beta-hydroxy acid and includes the likes of salicylic acid in its family.

Yes, you can! However, we would recommend using these two products on separate occassions to avoid over exfoliation of the scalp. As this BHA product is exfoliating, avoid using at the same time as AHAs (Glycolic Acid, AHA, Lactic Acid, Apple Cider Vinegar or Mandelic Acid), BHAs (C-50 Blemish Treatment), PHA Toner, Vitamin C or Retinol. Use on alternate nights.CAN I USE RETINOLS AFTER USING SALICYLIC ACID CLEANSER IN MY EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE?Yes! Salicylic Acid Cleanser is a gentle, yet effective cleanser that stays on your skin for a short amount of time and then gets completely washed off with water. Therefore, there should have little to no risk of irritation if you are to use Retinol Serum in your evening skincare routine. However we always recommend patch testing! Learn more about how to patch test.
