There is a slight variation in the scoring of corridors for solo mode: your corridors have to have at least 7 matching adjacent terrain tiles to get a 2 point bonus. Personally I love making the contiguous habit corridors as big as possible, but we also liked that variety of the different animal card rules. Assisted by Beth Sobel’s gorgeous artwork, it requires its players to build a Pacific North-Western environment which, in a Wingspan-ish style, should provide the best habitats for its faunal populace. And although I can sometimes be left feeling like a poor relation when solo modes are a simple BYOS, the added scenarios in Cascadia offer more. The animal photos are gorgeous, the terrain tiles are bright, bold and very clear and the animal discs are also very bold and clean looking.You start with three hexagonal habitat tiles (with the five types of habitat in the game), and on a turn you choose a new habitat tile that's paired with a wildlife token, then place that tile next to your other ones and place the wildlife token on an appropriate habitat.

There’s also a Family variant Wildlife Scoring Card which replaces all 5 individual animal goals with a single objective which is great for younger or less experienced gamers. These are drawn blindly from a cloth bag and paired randomly with the habitat tiles on offer, though once taken they can be placed down separately in your own environment. Four tiles are on display, with each tile being paired at random with a wildlife token, so you must make the best of what’s available — unless you have a nature token to spend so that you can pick your choice of each item. While it will not be everyone’s cup of tea, if you like tile-laying and puzzles it is definitely worth your time.In addition to the Landmarks module, this expansion includes more unique wildlife scoring cards and habitat tiles to add variety and enough components to play Cascadia with 5-6 players.

So, for example, salmon score higher the more you have in an adjacent run, and Elks like to be with their buddies so score better in groups. It is very good for 2 people and the only problem I see is that the art could be amazing and it is very mediocre.
