I was so looking forward to reading your recommended version of Peter Pan and tonight was the night! Lovely early copy, with a few small repaired tears on rear cover cloth, and light wear to the binding besides. It’s the beginning of an amazing adventure featuring a cast of classic characters, from the mischievous Lost Boys and jealous fairy Tinker Bell, to the villainous Captain Hook and his pirate band.However, the ‘boy who would never grow up’ almost certainly also alludes to Barrie’s brother, David, who died in a tragic accident shortly before his fourteenth birthday. Our collection showcases classic fairy tales, children’s stories, and the work of some of the most celebrated artists, illustrators and authors. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins.

The first adventure in the Folio Society editions of ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ series, Enid Blyton’s The Enchanted Wood features Jonathan Burton’s enchanting illustrations and a new introduction by Michael Morpurgo. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.

The promise of colorful and buoyant illustrations that is implicitly made on the cover pages is not fulfilled.

With sumptuous details including cloth binding, foil cover, full colour illustrations throughout, textured paper jacket, ribbon marker and head and tail bands. With Interactive Elements hidden amongst the pages and a lined notebook to get you back in touch with your inner lost boy, it's an imaginative way to get lost in the story and note down all your feelings and imagination as you go. If children feel that the parent grasps the story well - or enjoys it - then they often try harder to follow.

Although this is clearly a fantastic book cover - no doubt about it - I am not a fan of Robert Ingpen's illustrations in children's books. Peter's pose cycled through a few versions to allow us to get more of a sense of his cheeky, confident (slightly arrogant? Robert Ingpen's trademark illustrations are world famous and if you like the style - you are in luck!
