About this deal

Emily wanted to read The Midnight Gang herself and offer her very own review of David Walliams’ book: David Walliamsin "Keskiyön jengi" (Tammi, 2020) täytyi ottaa kesäiselle lukulistalle, sillä jos hyvä tuuri kävisi, saattaisi kirjasta osoittautua samanlaiseksi täysosumaksi kuin vanhat ja monikäyttöiset vinkkaussuosikit Gangsterimummi (2016) ja Poika ja mekko (2015). But he soon notices there is something strange going on. The children sneak out from the ward at night, past the controlling and Trunchbull-like Matron. Just where are they going? What are they doing? And what is the... Midnight Gang?? The Midnight Gang has some hilarious set-pieces that really did make me laugh. Most notably when the children’s well-meaning plans end in scenes of utter chaos involving huge quantities of helium balloons and a naked pensioner. I’ll admit it had me snorting in a most unladylike manner.

For instance, this book tells us not to judge people by their looks or where they from but to judge them by their personality and actions.Wiegand, Chris (4 May 2020). "The Midnight Gang review – escape to Walliams' wonderland". The Guardian. Archived from the original on 28 February 2023 . Retrieved 28 February 2023. This book is undeniably funny, particularly for kids. Snot is sneezed in faces, needles shoved in bums and lots of embarrassing things happen that will have kids laughing so long and hard they forgot what they were laughing at to begin with. First of all, if you love Roald Dahl, you NEED this book in your life. But this book was over and above what I had expected it to be. I went into it thinking that this was going to be a nice middle grader-ish story that i can enjoy. But, the beautiful things that David Walliams teaches you through the course of this book is the best! I loved all the little children and by the end of the book I started to fall in love with them and wished them all the best in their lives (just like how you feel after reading a series of unfortunate events) . I wanted to hug those little kids and wish all their problems away!

I've read them all on paper, but also now with my son in the car as audiobooks, and each time, Walliams himself acts as able and amusing narrator, with friends assisting with a few roles, bringing the story to life very well, his experience as actor and comedian keeping him very easy to listen to and laugh with. And the author also manages to get a little dig aimed at Britain's Got Talent in there, mentioning TV talent shows. And a very funny sequence ending up with a Twit-like balloon scene (can't wait to see THAT one aired on Christmas Day, David?!). I had a fantastic time reading and listening to this book. Very well written and wonderfully narrated by the author. I laughed my guts out a lot through out the book. Full to the brim with heart-warming characters and witty humour, The Midnight Gang is sure to be a Walliams classic. Brave, David - I hope this does well. It will be a lovely Christmas Dad adaptation as well. Will you be playing Tootsie this time?OMG! This was the sweetest, cutest little book ever. I am now proud to say that I am a David Walliams fan! Just as I am a Roald Dahl fan. Augusta, Caitlin (1 December 2017). "The Midnight Gang". School Library Journal. Archived from the original on 28 February 2023 . Retrieved 28 February 2023. David Walliams’ bestselling children’s book, THE MIDNIGHT GANG, is a story of friendship, theatre and magic – and of making dreams come true.

Tom wonders why he never hears from his parents, and now being a patient at the Lord Funt Hospital, why haven't they inquired about his accident and injury? I can thoroughly recommend David Walliams’ latest children’s book, The Midnight Gang. It deserves to become a much-loved classic, with a wonderful warmth and tenderness mingled with humour that sets it above some of Roald Dahl’s ‘spikier’ tales.

I must admit this is the first David Walliams book I have read. Walliams is well known for his comedy and it goes without saying that his books are filled with clever humour. I was expecting funny. What I wasn’t expecting, was the depth of issues and emotions this book dealt with as well. amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;div style="display:inline;"&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;amp;gt;&amp;amp;lt;br /&amp;amp;gt;&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;<br />
The clever use of fonts and text layout make it fun and easy to read as it is not too text heavy and is interspersed with expressive and funny illustrations. The Midnight Gang is a children's book written by David Walliams and illustrated by Tony Ross. It was released by HarperCollins on November 3, 2016. The story follows a boy called Thomas "Tom" Charper going to a cruel hospital and joining a "midnight gang" consisting of the facility's other children. Kaksitoistavuotias Tom saa kesken liikuntatunnin krikettipallosta päähänsä ja joutuu sairaalaan, jonka henkilökuntaan kuuluvat muun muassa karmaisevaa karmaisevampi Ylihoitaja sekä Quasimodon mieleen tuova yleismies Kantaja. The Midnight Gang itself is lovely, an inspired if not altogether unique idea, but it is what it means that is really wonderful - at the heart of the book is the idea of doing things for others, being there for your friends, a message embedded nicely by Walliams throughout the story. I highly recommend this book the audio is very hilarious and light hearted and also have a look at the book as well. Bearn, Emily (3 December 2016).
