About this deal

These self-appointed decision-makers and gatekeepers determine what is cool, what is in and what is out, what is acceptable and what is not. On the other hand if you’re feeling mentally strong but overwhelmed, lacking in motivation or paralysed by self doubt, then taking guidance from someone who’s been there, done it and got the handbag could be all the help you need. Even though she covers mental health, daily routine and lifestyle, love and friendship, society, work and pretty much everything else in between - I personally enjoyed the parenting section and parts of the book perhaps the most. She really loves her children and a large part of her life is spent making sure how they are all safe, cared for and know that they are loved. Anya shares her challenges and her high points and I totally agree with her thoughts on being a woman in a male dominated industry.

I loved it all and the experience left me feeling inspired and energised, and I was pretty happy with me new hair too. I’m so used to studying heavy going mental health books that reading entrepreneur Anya Hindmarch’s, If in Doubt Wash Your Hair, was like a mini break for the mind. I feel that Anya has not only given out very valuable lessons and tips and tricks when it comes to being a parent who's also working but in general as well.If it's fun and something you enjoy but doesn't have a market (won't bring in money) then it's a hobby not a business. Even though Anya’s experience is far beyond mine I found myself on nearly every page either making notes or having this overwhelming sense I was walking in similar footsteps and finally someone who understood. And also that I constantly worry how I don't mess up at parenting because I not only realise how important a role of a parent is + how the kind of relationship you build with them growing up is going to determine the kind of relationship they have with you when you are old. Anya does this well, through an example of Saturday pizza with family to make up for a busy work week and asking for slack at work in a week full of school performances.

As soon as I saw the title, I immediately wondered what in the world that this book could possibly be about. Years spent working from the kitchen table, cash flow issues and the realisation that when problems arise at work, she finds it hard to be mentally present at home. In If In Doubt, Wash Your Hair , she shares what she has learned during her busy and eclectic life, what she still worries about, and what advice she has received along the way.

I am slightly dyslexic too, and strongly agree that I may not be able to find the time to sit and read long books or maybe be correct with my grammar. Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids.
