About this deal

It handled the lowest setting with ease, successfully reaching the laptop’s maximum refresh rate at 60fps. Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List. Since their inception, these devices have developed a reputation as being cheaply made laptops aimed at consumers balancing on a tightrope budget.

The chassis is constructed from an aluminium alloy, which feels nice and sturdy, but it weighs exactly the same as its predecessor, tipping the scales at 1. Although I also have Logos (which has an online version) it doesn't have the full features that their native Windows or Mac versions have. I've used it extensively as a chromebook and have been able to do much of the work that I need to get done on a traditional laptop. The product range includes, for example, laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops, monitors, TVs and computer peripherals. There is a catch though; to view it in native resolution you have to reduce your display size to 80% in settings.Intel HD Graphics 400 (Braswell): Integrated graphics card in the Intel Braswell series (2016 Celeron) processors. After that, I cleaned up Windows, removed the bloatware, disabled some system services that I wouldn't be needed, and locked it down. The keyboard and touchpad layout also remain unchanged, with the same spacious layout as Apple’s MacBook Air. Despite testing various genres, nothing sounded great, but the slight static produced by the beat of a hip-hop track was the worst of it. If you can live without Windows or macOS, and you want to save a bit of money in the process, it just might be the ideal device.

I just discovered that the chromebook modding community has gotten the Google Pixelbook fully supported under Windows 10. Luxurious Chrome OS machines like the Google Pixelbook and HP Chromebook 13 have started doing the rounds, with fancy high-resolution screens and surprisingly decent internal specifications. Before beginning, make sure your computer is completely turned off and disconnected from any external power sources.I think it'll handle your photo workflow better than a chromebook, and obviously work better with Apple Music, but an iPad (Pro or non) will be a step back in nearly every other aspect (again depending upon the particular things you need to do). We also boast an active community focused on purchasing decisions and technical aspects of the iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Mac platforms. But then that starts to get into the realm of "a step too far that results in something more complicated than the starting point". I don't have any first-hand experience with SmugMug, but there are Chrome extensions for SmugMug and an Android app for it so between those, you should be able to interact with SmugMug as you currently do. On this occasion, I opened up WebGL’s Aquarium benchmark to test the Chromebook 14’s graphics capabilities.

That's another area where I don't have first hand experience with, but I suspect that it won't be easy. I have alternative Android and online Bible resources and I can use them in a pinch when I need to, but in no way would I want that to be my primary mode of operating. And these type of deal-breakers are something you often can't discover until you actually try to work it through. Even one of the key pieces of software I rely on (that is only available on iOS, macOS, and Windows) was easily installed via WINE.The Acer Chromebook 14 has a Celeron N3160 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 1080p display, matte screen, and all aluminum body. While it’s not quite as nice as the one on the 2015 MacBook Pro I use for work, it’s still a perfectly smooth experience; it points the mouse where I tell it to, and shortcut commands are easy to execute. It feels like a grown-up computer in the way that other Chromebooks – such as its chief rival, the HP Chromebook 14 – simply don’t. There are a few areas where Chrome OS falls short (regardless of device) which prevents it from being a true daily-driver.
