About this deal

The other thing I would recommend is remove your wheels and put the car up on axle stands, it makes it easier to get at and you don’t end up with Lanoguard all over the inside walls of your tyres. I have been considering using Lanoguard as it doesn't cover up any existing rust as conventional underseal does and it doesn't compromise the original finish applied by Volvo. Something like a diff cover for example and you can't start chapping with a screwdriver or in around subframe were you cant get tools in properly. Parked it up on ramps in the garage so I had access to the underneath and spent time with rags and the airline drying and cleaning off the underside.

How does it last long term, I will find out. However, if you believe that you can treat the underside of a vehicle once and expect it to last years, then you're mistaken. I've restored plenty of classics that had been Waxoyl'd and the were rotten due to poor maintenance. One common query we get here at Lanoguard is "How does it compare to ____?". It can't be denied, there are an abundance of different rust proofing and waterproofing sprays, greases and lubricants out on the market. Some good, some bad, some low cost, some high cost. The key question is, how does Lanoguard fit in? What makes it stand out from the crowd? First time using this product so was interested to see how it worked. Previously used Waxoyl to reasonable effect but this can be difficult to apply unless using the aerosol version. Many parts of cars are prone to rust and so common areas to use LanoShield are on all bolts and nuts, bulkheads etc. As with trailers we have found the easiest way to apply this is by using a small brush and remember to cover the thread on the bolts as well as all nuts. It can also be applied to your car battery terminals to stop corrosion

Fluid film, was surprisingly good on both pre-rusted metal and clean metal. It seems to stop rust progression no matter the state of the metal at the start. I've always used waxoyl, some people say its rubbish but if the car isn't too bad to start with i think it does a good enough job for a year, especially on floor pan. But my problem is when something is badly rusted like an axle or subframe then within a couple of weeks its gone. I'm guessing these parts are probably more exposed too. Water and Moisture Repellent: One of the key advantages of lanolin-based grease is its ability to repel water and moisture. It forms a hydrophobic barrier on the metal surface, preventing water from reaching the metal and causing rust. This is particularly important for vehicles that are regularly exposed to rain, snow, or wet conditions. Only down side so far is it still faintly smells of sheep, but I'm told that does diminish over time. We have three product lines, Lanoguard Moto, Lanoguard Marine and Lanoguard Outdoor. At their core they all have key protective properties and prevent;

In summary, I'm impressed, easy to apply, goes a very long way, just got to wait until over this winter to see how it goes. Underside of my land Cruiser had just been renovated with rust removal, paint and Upol stonechip so rust coverage was not a problem. Yes, it can be a little messy but every type of water repellent is messy. If you want full coverage, then you have to get into all the nooks and crannies.

Firstly, lanolin has a natural affinity to ferrous (and many non-ferrous) metals. This means that it works its way to the base metal and bonds to it, including that underneath rust! – which is why, unlike many conventional products, Lanoguard can be sprayed onto surface rust with no issues and doesn't require a highly prepped and keyed up surface. The lanolin will be attracted to the metal underneath and slowly push off any existing rust.

For larger areas like bulk heads either use our spray or simply a larger brush but as you only need a thin coating spread thinly. Please note that if you prefer a thinner grease i.e. more like a gloss paint consistency LanoShield can be heated up by placing the jar in a microwave for 30 seconds on full power Fishing equipment How long did the smell linger for? I have heard it is a pretty potent organic smell alikened to the Giraffe house at London Zoo when first applied. If heating LanoShield please be aware that it can get very hot so precautions should be taken. Though the product is non-hazardous it can be hard to get off so we recommend using protective gloves The stand will also have Epropulsion the market leaders in Electric inboard and outboard solutions including the new I series inboards.I power hose it and wire brush it first but if its heavily scaled I think the waxoyl doesn't penetrate into it. In summary, LanoShield prevents and stops corrosion. This is a simple, 100% natural, (made from purified sheep’s wool grease) and versatile product that can be used on electrical components and anywhere that you want to protect from water and corrosion it comes in various sizes from single trailer 250ml tubs to 192kg drums of grease and 500ml to 1000l IBC’s of the spray version. I think underseal stinks as a product and actually makes things worse. It should be banned and the company sued. Clean the chain, gears, nuts, bolts screws first and then apply the LanoShield. This will not only protect your bike but also enable you to wash it without the LanoShield coming off even if using a pressure washer to 3000PSI Other applications

Waterproof and great for protecting electrical fittings including circuit boards, switch panels etc.Not only that but its key features allow Lanoguard's uses to be almost endless, just see the list below.... First let’s take a look at why Lanoguard works. It’s produced by us in the UK from a lanolin (wool-grease) base. Lanolin gives our products some unique properties which make them ideal for waterproofing (it’s got to keep the sheep dry after all!) and also allows them to work on already rusted/rusting surfaces without a prepared keyed surface. It's 12 years old, and as expected, it already had areas of surface rust in places so I started by jet washing the whole underneath as best I could at our local industrial pressure washer on a day when the roads were dry. Did the complete van, rear to front, including taking out the head lights to do the inner wings, inside chassis rails as best I could, and what I considered covering everywhere excessively and had only used half of the quantity! Ashton Marine Services are taking LanoShield the long lasting eco-friendly anti-corrosion ant-seize grease and sprays to Boatlife at the NEC 16th-19th of Feb.
