The sounds of appreciation from happily munching youngsters were testimony to how tasty these meals are. It is always lovely to receive a present; but for the Two Blondes, it is even more lovely when we receive a present for our young people. We are happy to say that this happens quite often; last week, it happened in the form of a food parcel.

Between us we came to a few conclusions about ‘Look What We Found’ meals at camp. We were unanimous about their tastiness (excellent) but found that a few were a bit too ‘saucy’. Some of us didn’t think that they provided enough calories (specifically carbs) to make an expedition meal on their own. We all agreed that the variety of flavours available would suit most palates, and that they were very easy to cook and eat. All of the youngsters and most of the leaders said that they would buy the meals for future expeditions. The pouches can be easily stored and have a long shelf life (approximately a year), so are perfect for stashing in your camping equipment store or campervan. It's not every day that we literally salivate over a product we get sent to review. However, this is not an average piece of camping equipment! All in all, this is a great little timesaver that isn't limited to camping. The meals would make amazing lunches and dinners, especially if you're only cooking for one or two people. So that's the general principle... now, as they say, the proof is in the eating. And these meals most certainly prove themselves! I sampled the "Fellside Beef Casserole" for lunch and it was, in a word, delicious.
