Carrying capacity: Crane M3S continues the compact and elegant design of Crane M3, while optimizing the arm design to be compatible with more camera and lens combinations, including certain ful-frame camera lens combinations. All in all, the Crane M3S is a really good gimbal. It's not a brand new gimbal and I think that's why it's not called the Crane M4. It's a slightly improved crane M3, so that's why it's called the Crane M3S.

In my opinion, this was kind of useless. I never really used it and because of the removal of the microphone module, the Crane M3S only comes in two options: the Standard Version and the Combo Version. While this approach has its pros and cons - you don't always need a light source and it's sometimes creatively beneficial to have the light source separate from the camera point of view - most of the time having the M3's small (2cm) but deceptively bright 800-lumen (average) lighting available on demand is undeniably a good thing. If the size of the gimbal handle was kept the same, but the space between the sliding axis was slightly bigger, we would rate the gimbal a lot higher.
