There's no diving into our DNA to try and justify unkind and hurtful people: like it reads essentially, we're not born with ego however over-sized, nor are we born with the insecurities or self doubt, it's learnt and shaped by our experiences and the people around us, and thats what the book is saying, control that stuff yourself don't relinquish control to someone else because good people won't put you in a position where you do or feel you have to. If you’re easily offended or have really thin skin, our tribe probably just isn’t the place for you.
