About this deal

Battery life, by the way, is a slight improvement on the Honor 9X but not massively so. In our test, it lasted 13hrs 26mins before giving up. Unsurprisingly, the 5,000mAh cell on the Moto G8 Power lasts quite a bit longer: nine hours longer, to be precise. Honor 9X Pro review: Camera These narrow boats show up fairly well, making what was a scene lit only by distant lights on the other side of the canal look like a grim afternoon. However, the Pixel 3a conjures up something that looks like it was taken during a bright day. If you were looking for something that still looked like it was taken at night, maybe the Honor is more to your taste, but I really like how the Google phone was able to show me colors and detail I never would have been able to with my own eyes. I took the 9X and the Google Pixel 3a out for daytime and nighttime photo comparisons. Although the Pixel 3a isn’t the same size as the Pixel 3a XL, the more relevant competitor to the 9X, the camera software and hardware is identical, so the comparison remains fair. For the pictures I took of this muffin, I switched the 9X’s settings so it took images at its full 48-MP instead of the usual 12-MP resolution, which it does to save memory and to allow for digital zoom and other photo functions. This resulted in a far brighter image than the one produced by the 12.2 megapixels that the Pixel 3a manages. The two different shots make different parts of this baked treat look better — the cake itself on the Honor, the jam topping on the Google. Whichever picture you prefer, it shows that under the right circumstances the 9X can take photos with the best of them.

The Honor 9X Pro has the same camera setup as its predecessor, where the main 48-megapixel f/1.8 sensor is supported by two extra lenses – an 8-megapixel f/2.4 wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor. After performing my usual test of watching videos until the battery dies, the 9X survived about 10 hours of constant YouTube streaming with a little power still left in the tank. It joins a lengthening list of phones released this year that you could happily charge only every two days if you were careful with how you used it Shooting in 48MP AI Ultra Clarity takes about six seconds and each photo eats up about 20MB, but if you want superior quality - this is the way. This 48MP AI mode works only with abundant light and you must switch to it manually from settings. Both the main and ultra-wide camera deliver good dynamic range, nice contrast, no visible noise, and punchy colors. The picture is quite soft though and the resolved detail is average at best. Portrait mode is available. You can turn the blur on and off; there's also beautification (a 0-10 setting). The subject separation is mostly hit and miss though, and we can't recommend using this mode.Various connectivity options on the Honor 9X Pro include WiFi - Yes Wi-Fi 802.11, ac/b/g/n/n 5GHz, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth - Yes v5.0, and 4G (supports Indian bands), 3G, 2G. Sensors on the Honor 9X Pro include Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope. This is the follow up to the rather good Honor 9X. As you might expect, the word Pro means it comes with more processing grunt, with the Kirin 710 processor subbed out for a 2.27GHz octa-core Kirin 810. The 6GB RAM remains the same but there’s also a generous 256GB of internal storage, which itself can be expanded via microSD cards. Honor 9X Pro is powered with Octa core (2.6 GHz, Dual core, Cortex A76 + 1.9 GHz, Hexa Core, Cortex A76) HiSilicon Kirin 810 processor so that you can enjoy a seamless performance while accessing multiple applications at the same time. Also, the phone comes with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB inbuilt storage so that you can store various files like songs, videos, games and more without worrying about space constraints. Besides, the Honor 9X Pro runs Android v9.0 (Pie) operating system and houses a decent 4000 mAh battery that lets you use it for a longer time duration while watching movies, listening to songs, playing games and doing other stuff without worrying about battery drainage.

Recently I bought an HONOR 9X Pro from China since it really has attractive features and price. It has triple-camera, including a 48MP main camera, and the powerful 7nm 810 chipset. The 9X only has one set of internal specs options: a Kirin 710 processor, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It means that the 9X isn’t a powerhouse phone, but that’s still enough for everyday use and then some. You can’t really argue with the results for the price, with the Honor 9X Pro punching above its weight in terms of image quality and detail. Though this HONOR 9X Pro is a Chinese version model, the setting up process is generally the same. But I need the GMS! I searched on the Internet and finally I found the way! It's quite easy if you follow up my steps! The Honor 9X Pro is running on Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 by Huawei, and it has the new Huawei Mobile Services that come to replace Google's. The AppGallery is available, sure, and its app catalog is still growing. If you can't find your favorite apps there are a few workarounds so we figured we should give the Honor 9x Pro a chance. Is the camera any good?

The default 12MP photos from the main camera are sharp and detailed. We observed accurate (if a bit subdued) colors and the dynamic range was always great and we never used HDR. Areas of high complexity such as foliage and building blinds are not as nicely presented and what appears to be overly aggressive noise-reduction process smears some fine detail. There are noticeable oil-painting-like areas here and there. There are obvious weaknesses with the Honor 9X, including a camera that falls flat in low light and just so-so performance.. However, the large notchless display, good battery life and solid camera performance (in normal lighting conditions) make this one of the better Android values we’ve tested. For an affordable smartphone, the Honor 9X has a big screen. It’s a 6.6-inch display, which is a little on the large side for a smartphone, so unless you have rather big hands it may be hard for you to properly use the device. The two phones are more evenly matched in this wide open scene with a mix of dark and bright spots, but once again the Pixel 3a brings out the details and color much more than the 9X achieves, with the Honor also capturing large flares from the bright spotlights illuminating the square in front of Kings Cross Station. Furthermore, the aspect ratio of the Honor 9X Pro is 19.5:9 so that you can enjoy vivid and crystal clear visuals while watching videos, playing games, or streaming movies online..The main camera uses a Sony IMX582 48MP sensor that has a Quad-Bayer array for pixel binning and the resulting image is 12MP in resolution. You can shoot in 48MP though, and under the right circumstances (good light), you will get a native 48MP photo - this is achieved through demosaicing (reconstructing by interpolation) the missing color information. But demosaicing is something a lot of phones can do and probably that's why Honor is trying to one-up those with the 48MP AI Ultra Clarity option, which improves the photo quality through supersampling. It takes six seconds to snap a single photo and you must keep the phone steady, but it will be worth it. The 48MP AIUC samples have much more detail than the regular 48MP images and if you downscale these to 12MP - those are superior in detail to the regular 12MP shots, especially in high intricacy areas such as foliage. Samples coming up in a bit!

Sadly, the 9X isn't suited for low-light photography. Taking it and the Pixel 3a out to Kings Cross one evening, the Honor is neither effective at dealing with bright light sources, nor at revealing detail hidden in the darkness. A big contributor to this is that you can only use night mode at an 8MP resolution, unlike the Pixel 3a which lets you use its maximum 12.2MP in its Night Sight mode. The global version of the Honor 9X Pro isn't that different from the Google-friendly Honor 9X, but it has one tempting advantage - the more powerful Kirin 810 chip. The Honor 9X Pro, just like the 9X, has a 16MP f/2.2 camera on its pop-up module. The focus is fixed, as usual.

This, to put it mildly, is unfortunate. Because if this stylish smartphone had all the trappings you’d expect software wise, it would surely get our seal of approval. As it is though, it’s impossible to recommend. Honor 9X Pro review: What you need to know Rear camera: Primary - 48MP, 27mm, f/1.8; PDAF; Ultrawide - 8MP, 13mm, f/2.4; Depth sensor - 2MP.
