About this deal

We did investigate going down the injection moulding route but it was cost prohibitive to produce 4+ tools with complicated movable cores. I'd been seriously considering the Reserve Fillmore valves, which did come top of the "Best Tubeless Valve" lists I'd seen, these seem to offer better value and more importantly, easy to source spares. I prefer the first option, and always seat a tyre without sealant in it first to prevent having to deal with the mess that can cause if the tyre doesn't seat easily.

For positioning, I opted for the top of my top tube, since my v-brake cable routing prevented me from placing it underneath. They improve pumping efficiency and they don't clog up, exactly what's needed in a pair of tubeless valves. Before launching a product it undergoes rigorous testing by 76 projects, podium bothering racers, daily commuters, and weekend warriors. More importantly, from a manufacturing perspective large batches (250+) exhibit better than recommended tolerances and the finishes are consistent and reliable.Extra-wide brackets available for widths 90mm to 130mm bars centre to centre (68-108mm inside to inside).

I was impressed with how much it can hold, the fact it can be stuck anywhere, and how well it stayed in place. When riding, it keeps everything in place, and the sticky tape mount means it can be placed anywhere on the bike, as long as it doesn’t interfere with the rider or moving parts. It would be easy to carry all these (apart from the pump maybe) in the back pocket of your jersey, in a handle bar or frame bag for example, but not everyone wants their jersey weighed down or uses bags and anyway.Seriously though having to remove the contents of your bag to get to the tube or tool that has inevitably worked its way to the bottom is a pain, especially added to the stress of having a puncture or a mechanical. An added bonus of the Hi Flow design is that airflow through the valve increases significantly, making pumping up your tyres more efficient; this was noticeably easier even when using a standard hand pump. The modular mount has a replaceable insert for the computer allowing you to switch if you should change computer brand. Paul Robertson, Co-owner and Designer at 76 Projects provided further insight: “We necessarily had to develop a trusted relationship with key suppliers for the manufacturing side of our business, and we wanted that to be within the UK. In the real world the rider accounts for 60% of drag and the savings generated by wearing a aero helmet are soon lost if the rider needs to move their head to every time they view their computer.

The instructions that come with the mount are easy to follow and there’s some adjustability for the placing of the holder. Chosen by world champions and world tour teams our products are designed and manufactured without compromise.I’ve tried to put it in unconventional places to test it’s robustness and to see if it would rattle off but everywhere i’ve mounted it to it has stayed exactly where placed. When it gets warmer and I want to carry more fluid I can move the mount up to give the second cage more clearance. Projects continues: "Tubeless bike tyres and rims were introduced 20 years ago yet tubeless systems still use the Presta valve standard. This version uses a 3M tape that has stuck fast through all the riding, weather and loads I have put on it. it has a small inner pocket for tyre patches or similar and comes with a stabilising strap for extra security, i’ve never used it but you’d might want to if mounting to a downhill/enduro bike maybe?

I am fairly set on using a frame bag for bikepacking, and unfortunately that leaves me wondering where I'd put the Micro Piggy. If you already have a 76 Projects mount you can purchase the velcro and brackets that are specific to our poles and swap them out for those currently on your mount. Industrial designers with over 30 years experience between them, they're also avid cyclists with a passion for all cycling disciplines. They are industrial designers with over 40 years experience between them, they also love cycling and bikes of all types, n+1 is an equation that is familiar to us! We have now developed several other unique products following the same process and use the initial product runs to gauge market interest. Instead of just using a typical Velcro strap to attach the Little Piggy to a frame we developed silicone rubber pads which are both super grippy and add shock absorption.
