About this deal

The ending was a definite high point, so much had been sacrificed and it all just sat perfectly with the rest of the story. The girls clash over many different situations during the story. But both realise in the end that they are only looking out for each other. This book is fun, a light hearted read, story of families coming together, sisterly drama, plenty of humour and a few twists and fireworks to make up the perfect wedding.

To me this book had a real ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ feeling. It was a good read and different than my normal reads. The romance wasn’t really what I hoped it would be, but in the end it was really good and perfect for Amber’s character. I did think this book was a bit too long when I was half way through. I think this book would have been just as good if a view parts were left out. If you are out there feeling like you are the only person going through something on your own - worrying that you might not be achieving at work or not feeling confident in your own skin, this book is designed to let you know you are not alone! Throughout the book it is told by the viewpoints of Lizzie and Bex Ashworth who are sisters. I loved the alternate viewpoints and it felt like I really got to know the characters more rather than it just being one sided. There are also the occasional chapters told from the viewpoint of Nicole Balfour, I also felt they added to the story however I wish we learnt more about Nicole. I really did enjoy reading this book and feel that readers will Definetly be able to relate to the characters and story. Was expecting a fuzzy, cozy, heartwarming Christmas read today on the day of Christmas ~duh~. Couldn’t say this book was all of them but it was definitely worth the 2.5 hrs and def an above avrg book.

I really wanted to like this book but it just wasn’t for me. It seems I am in the minority according to goodreads however as a lot of people loved it! This follows the story of Amber, who is a Geordie girl living in London and trying to make her living as a fashion designer. The ending is just so cute, only Jay and his boyfriend was cuterrrrr!!! Like Jay gonna propose to him, I'm just, ahhh. Jay is the only character in the book who I would love to have a best friend as. He's so quirky, hilarious, supporting, a shoulder-to-cry-on, and I'd be vice-versa, which is what Lizzy had been. I have a soft spot for stories based in the UK so expect British phrases, settings and culture woven throughout the story which examines the dynamics between sisters, how it evolves when big life changes occur especially when one sister had to take the mom role as well in raising the other. My Final Verdict: Readers who like a happily ever after without any cliffhangers should grab this book. Additionally, readers who like romantic comedies or books that feature characters the reader immediately feels a bond with will enjoy this and, like me, wish they were part of the Ashworth family. I will be on the lookout for more of this author’s work and am hoping I will get to spend time with these characters again. Where the book lost me a bit was on some of the minor characters like Nicole who I just could not identify with at all. She just seemed far too fake and over the top for me - are people really like that? I hope not.

But Amber's life isn't quite as perfect as it seems and when a face from the past turns up, Amber's life is turned upside down. Can she right it again and make up for her mistakes in time for Christmas? Ambers new boss Alessandri and assistant Freddie are absolutely darlings and you can't help but warm to them. If there's any woman out there who is feeling like they're going through things on their own, or they're worried that they're not achieving what they should be, or feeling or looking how they should, I want this book to let you know you're not alone." When Issy's dad puts her forward for a sensational new reality TV show, no one expects her to actually be selected. With her family urging her to grab the opportunity with both hands, Issy suddenly finds herself surrounded by glamour, fame and celebrities. Full of excitement, Issy embraces it all - it's what she needs to do to achieve her goals. But when the reality of what she's signed up for doesn't match the dream Issy is chasing, things begin to fall apart. Issy is so close to getting everything she ever wanted - but just how much of herself will she have to sacrifice to get it?
