With the replacement styluses being affordable I won't be tempted to keep one going beyond it's best. It sounds so good since I got it properly set up and broken in that I'm reluctant to swap it out but the shure m25c that's currently on the technics is not gonna cut it for me, even though at this point the technics is my backup. But I think most people - me included - get cought to some YT vids and the praise for the Nagaoka MP-110 and the hype was there. For jazz and classical I could easily live the MP-200 and never feel the need to hear anything better. For AT, well, I like the VM95SH just a bit more than the ML, but neither are a pimple on a Nag to my ears. They arrive remarkably speedily from Japan, it is weird how fast they show, they seem genuine, not damaged as they come in plastic cases in Bubble wrap.

If I was forced to use a conical or elliptical (particular crappy bonded ones) for all of my records, I would have chucked my turntable out the window 6 months after trying to get back into vinyl 7-8 years ago and gone back to CD + digital only. Their discontinued MP 11 had a rather large following around it when it was out years ago and this MP 110 is its direct replacement. If the records are mostly new and/or VG+ and RCM cleaned, then the 95ML is a good choice, provided it is properly matched to the phono preamp and tonearm. The replacement, the Ame's unit, also from Harbor Freight has been fantastic and can handle spikes well as it's been zapped a time or two when diagnosing my dryer on at least 120V and yet, still works great.

There hasn’t been a noticeable drop in sound quality but I fear it could develop into a problem soon in the future. The Schiit Mani and ART DJ pre II are temping, however they only have capacitance and gain adjustments.Neither one has resistance adjustments though they MIGHT be able to be modded, but it is unknown what type circuits either have (SMT or Through hole). In some ways this may be even better than my beloved AR turntable due to a heavier platter and beefier construction. ive got multiple tables set up in my system and ive been finding myself gravitating to the q2 stuffed with modeling clay and the vm95ml. I recently started to digitize some of my records for listening on the go and noticed a significant roll off of the high end frequencies when I look at the waveform.
