About this deal

There's a reason I don't read incomplete duets or series because then I'm sad when I can't read the next book. I went against my better judgment with this book and I have no regrets (okay I have some because I hated waiting for book two) because I loved this story. The great news is the second book is out now, so you don't have to wait if you're reading this review! Adeline Reilly is 26 years old in Haunting Adeline. She’s a successful author who resides in her family’s home that’s been passed down generations, the Parsons Manor. While renovating this Gothic style home, she slowly starts to uncover its secrets. No, this is not a paranormal romance. Does haunting Adeline end in a cliffhanger? there’s so many one liners that are just too hilarious for me to ignore so here are some of my favorites

As an avid romance reader, this one was bound to fall short for me. Although it continues to fall under the dark romance category, it was more of a thriller. This book will be much more enjoyable to those who enjoy majority of a thriller element than romance. The parallel between Adeline and her great-grandmother's experiences adds a layer of depth to the narrative, creating an addictive quality that keeps readers eagerly anticipating more secrets and mysteries. Carlton skillfully intertwines past and present, weaving a tale that resonates with intensity and emotion. Unraveling the Haunting Mystery of Adeline delves into the captivating tale of a woman plagued by an unknown force. Join us as we uncover the secrets behind her haunting experiences and explore the chilling truth that lies within. The power of forgiveness in healing wounds: Through the narrative, the author delves into the significance of forgiveness, not only for others but for oneself as well. Adeline learns that true redemption lies in learning to forgive herself and those who have wronged her, breaking free from the chains of guilt and resentment. While the book embraces its dark romance and suspenseful elements, it is essential to note that "Haunting Adeline" ventures into territories of non-consensual and dubiously consensual encounters. This aspect may not be suitable for all readers and should be approached with caution. I never thought the endearment ‘little mouse’ was hot, but with the context that he’s the cat and she’s the prey just makes this 🥰 Omg, she's not like other girls!!! And to think that I thought I couldn't possibly hate this fmc more and she pulls the 'i'm not like other girls' line.

The worst thing about this book, for me, is how overly corny it is in its attempt to justify itself. In the haunting tale of Adeline, the past intertwines with the present, blurring the lines between flesh and spirit. As Adeline’s history is brought to light, the reader is drawn deeper into her world, uncovering the chilling truth behind the mysterious events that refuse to let her go. The theme of psychological manipulation is also integral to the story. Adeline’s journey exposes the intricate power dynamics at play, as she tries to decipher the motives and tactics of her pursuer. The novel raises questions about the blurred lines between love and obsession, trust and manipulation, and the lengths people will go to in their pursuit of what they desire. The story follows Adeline as she tries to survive in a world that is full of hunters. These hunters are after her for her unique ability to see the future. With their help, she must try to find a way to escape before they catch her. The Haunting Adeline trigger warning provides a cautionary notice about sensitive content in the book. How Spicy Is Haunting Adeline? The revelation about Adeline's great nan's ill-fated love and Addie's audacity to stay in the murder room contribute to a chilling and thrilling atmosphere. The narrative unfolds as an unpredictable and suspenseful journey, perfect for fans of psychological thrillers. The author's ability to maintain a sense of suspense and keep the reader on edge is commendable. I'm going to start out with this because I feel like otherwise it'll get lost in the end of my review and no one will care but can we please stop making sapphic relationships a joke?

Adeline has changed, obviously. I cried for her. She suffers from ptsd almost the entire book and her healing takes the most focus in the second half of the book and for a long time period too. Which I liked. It would’ve been weird and unrealistic to see her being all happy after like a month and willing to bang her bf.I need the Tin Man to oil the hinges on my door just as much as I need the Lion's bravery. I'm shaking like a leaf. Ghosts and spirits are recurring motifs in Haunting Adeline, adding an element of the supernatural to the narrative. These ethereal entities symbolize the unresolved conflicts and emotions that linger within the characters and the house itself. The presence of ghosts serves as a constant reminder of the past, heightening the eerie atmosphere and increasing suspense. Darkness and Shadows
